“A silent custodian walking the halls of her mind” is the most haunting description of a spell being cast. Jaw dropped!

Legit the single most memorable line to me personally from any D20 series

It’s giving Neil Gaiman’s Death from The Sandman series, and that’s the best kind. The difference is that both give off the same sense of melancholy, Death is simply explaining their role, while Evan’s is clearly more threatening because it’s his intent. Death has to do that, but Evan WANTS to.

"Killing her. Shadow: main channel. Island: mind affecting mind. Brain. Just electrical signals. I'm gonna shut her brain off. I've thought a lot about what Avada Kedavra would be... What's the smallest most efficient effort that makes a living person a dead body? Dream small." Ruthlessly efficient. We'd expect nothing less from Sadboi Dark One.

Also, Aabria smirking in complicity as she says "Difficulty... hmm, killing someone? Not as hard. 30." is some terrifying DMing.

This might be the most chilling thing Brennan has ever done, just the cold matter-of-fact nature of his narration sent a shiver down my spine

God DAMN I love this so much I knew it would become a clip. Everything from the no hesitation wand snap to the incredible description of what his spell looks like, just absolutely amazing

There’s something so captivating about Brennan’s final d20 roll being a nat one. It’s definitely crazy he had enough to make the check even with it, but I love the possible implications of it storywise, like there’s a part of Evan that’s regretting or hesitating on what he’s about to do or, probably more likely, a part of him trying and failing to stop himself from crossing that line D20 always gets some scarily poetic rolls so it’ll be interesting to see if this is something actually acknowledged by Brennan in some way

Lowkey there's a story/significance behind what it means now for Evan to "fail" his Fight rolls. Like when Evan failed to kick the salamander to death, because he wanted to kick it forever. But in this case, Evan succeeding even on a nat 1 (imo) shows up in his body language after he kills Boudicca. Even when he does the "heroic deed", Evan still winds up as the Dark One every horrible and cruel wizard from the old magic society said he was.

Evan has never been shy about using physical violence to protect himself/his friends. But in the past couple episodes, it's gone from "idiosyncratic" (if not tragic) in S1 to genuinely off-putting in S2. I wouldn't call him a murderer, but Evan also doesn't feel compelled to make up a story for why him killing is justified, externally

Same, this and the arm exploding clip from episode 2 I keep watching. I think I might post that clip as well

Brennan is absolutely *chilling* here in a way I’ve seldom seen him be as a PC. Like… we see him be scary as his villains. Calamity, anyone? But even at their most intimidating his PCs aren’t usually this scary. This right here? Just… wow. Honestly the only time I think I’ve seen him play a PC close to this was in LA by Night and that was him deliberately playing an antagonist to the rest of the PCs and inviting PVP. This? This is Evan going full “When a good man goes to war”.

If you want to see Brennan play another scary PC, you should check out his season of Candela Obscura. Some of his best acting I’ve seen

Sometimes I watch their games and I think "Oh I'd like to do that". Evan going from courier to Avada Kedavra in less than a breath gave me "Yeah, Evan is on point and I support you my boy".

Urgh saying “putting it all to bed” like he’s saying “I’ve had enough of this woman it’s time for her to go” is SO GOOD

ik brennan is rightfully the focus here but equally chilling, given the context we learn later, is aabria's little considering head tilt as she decides the DC of brennan's move and quietly just goes 'killing someone...not as hard. 30.'

So how long do you think till this one gets animated
@redshirts47572 күн бұрын
I think Sam Reich has talked in the past about animating the Dimension 20 seasons and how great it would be but it doesn’t fit their business model or something. Not something they’re willing to spend time and money on I guess.
