What I like about Lacrymosa is the complexity of emotions and the evolution of her thought porocess. At first she pittied him for blaming himself, then she was willing to take the bullet only to realize in the end that she must stay honest even if it means potential fall of this other person. Pretty amazing

+johnatan delacuso the melody perfectly illustrates the lyrics, and Amy's vocal expression is on a whole other level. I love how Evanescence used part of Mozart's Requiem in this.

Ironically, the original Lacrimosa by Mozart is about mourning the dead. I think this was Amy's way of mourning over her past with Ben, and laying it to rest.

They aren't really a goth band... Check out London After Midnight, Christian Death, Rozz Williams, Alien Sex Fiend, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, Unto Ashes for more of a Gothic sound. If you're looking for goth-ish music similar to Evanescence- try OLD Lacuna Coil's "In a Reverie", certain Nughtwish- Tristania's "Beyond the Veil" is a great goth-metal record with beautiful female melodies complimenting the male singer's death growls and clean vocals. Jack off Jill is a good band with a female singer, but they're more like goth- pop punk- riot- grrrl angst. Check out "Vivica", "Strawberry Gashes", "When Angels Fuck..." Jack off Jill's lead singer now has a band called Scarling, which is more dark and melodic.
