She looks so happy as she sings... so peaceful. I love this song and I love her.

Holy shit I want to sit in this song forever. I exist in that feeling the subtle change in emphasis that is a whole other league down or diagonal, sometimes up, usually that's just internally and it's bright and tiny but that means it's not gone, then the current comes again and it’s a depth you haven’t seen yet but it’s kind of beautiful and haunting too. Thank you for uploading this.🖤🪷

Quote: "This ethereal electronic track closes Evanescence's third album and completes a trilogy of sea-themed songs following "Never Go Back" and "Oceans." Frontwoman Amy Lee explained its meaning to Kerrang! magazine: "It's goodbye," she said. "It's partly about the acceptance of death. I love that song because it's not angry and it's not perfectly happy. It's sad but it's accepting the things in life that are hard - like someone leaving this world and feeling the peace of crossing over." She continued: "I've been through plenty of loss in my life. A big part of my early childhood was loss and understanding death and I think that this is me expressing that in a beautiful way. That's a part of life and it's okay." (source=songfacts.com)"

this is so beautiful, do u think she is talking about someone passing away?
@QueenGaGa01019211 жыл бұрын
She is. I know for a fact that on most Evanescence's Album's Amy does a song for her sister named Bonnie, who passed away in 1987.

+Devils Vampire 2013 the song is about passing away. But The Other Side is about her sister.

Krissy Ciammitti actually this song is about the people that drowned in the japan tsunami
@ralitsahristova39384 жыл бұрын
Hello (Fallen) and Like you(The open door) both songs are for her sister. You can actually hear her singing "I long to be like you, sis..." in Like you. She never perform those two songs live. So The other side or every other song has nothing to do with Bonnie Lee. The song she wrote about the tsunami is Never go back, not Swimming home 😉

It was actually written for Ponyo, a Japanese animation, but wasn't accepted by the film directors. (Source: EvReference)
