I asked the pastor's wife at this evangelical church (where my wife was dragging me), "What happens to people, like natives in the Amazon, who have never even heard of Jesus"? She got all flummoxed and said, "Oh guy....you ask too many questions!! You need to ask Pastor Larry". The message, pretty clearly, was, "Don't bother me this demonic 'logic stuff'. It was one more hint that I was getting my intellectual pocket picked.

Reminds me of the young man who went on a boat a few years ago, Bible in hand, to North Sentinel Island in the Bay of Bengal with the bright idea that he would be the first missionary to spread the gospel to the island tribe who have been isolated from the rest of the world for tens of thousands of years. They have no common language with any of the nearby islanders, and are extremely suspicious and usually hostile to outsiders. Suffice it to say, all he got for his efforts was an early death by arrow to the chest. If he had only read the history books and found out that missionary work has to be done by colonialism and repression, and that his god won't magically transmit the gospel directly into the brain of nativesIf only Yahweh hadn't gotten so jealous and butthurt when the Tower of Babel was built

And as the Word of God states..."The words of the LORD are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times. You shall keep them, O LORD, You shall preserve them from this generation forever." (Psalm 12:6-7) And again, "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Jesus set the record straight and showed us what God actually is like. I choose to follow Jesus, his teaching and example.
