jacorey hardin he actually didn't cause the 3rd impact, the 13 angel and Eva 6 did, Shinji was the last active Eva pilot with standard Eva unit so when he was lost, the 13 angel caused it, but unit 6 caused a stop, even thou it was likely dummy plug controlled

So as far as I can tell. 1. Eva 06 has Irule hiding in it when Kaworu is using it at the end of 2.0 or is otherwise later possessed. 2. Some point Irule sizes control of 06 and attempts to merge with Lilith I.E. the failure at Infinity. 3. This failed merging was stopped by the two Lance of Longinus. 4. Eva 09 frees a "trapped" Irule buy cutting Eva 06 head off, after Eva 13 wakes it up by removing the Lances. 5. Irule looking like a mass of black cables comes into contact with Lilith's LcL which causes it to mutate? Into a new Head of Lilith possibly in a attempt of Lilith's to revive, Eva 13 emits sort sort of Anti-AT field? That halts this Irule/Lilith fusion and devolved the being into a Core that Eva 13 eats to become a Eva 01 - Zerule "God" style entity to cause a Impact.

Man, I'm just going to speculate here, since that is all you can do till 4.0 comes out, when and if. Unit 6 was made on the moon, using an actual angel or progenitor, and seeing how lilith had no head, they used unit 6's. It is very possible it was another lilith of sorts. Whatever had landed on the moon, who knows right?

Officially eva 1 is the only angle in eva as the rest of them are made of Adam and not lilith I belive that's why shinji and his eva are almost always the cause of death because they weren't meant to exist

the white eyes may also glow white because the EVA goes berserk. But yeah, in this case it does turn into an angel (a survivor of the Adams). By the way, this one isnt unit 01 but unit 13, obviously based on the design of unit 01 but with major differences.

(SPOILERS) Actually that has the eva-01/eva-00/rei/zeruel combination as core. Yes, they imprisoned Shinji for actually creating that mass destruction mixture that can destroy the world if it accidentally awakens and yet they turned into a ship and are planing to use it at daily basis instead of destroying, risking by this way the very world Shinji ,completely ACCIDENTALLY and with them ignorantly motivating him, HALF-destroyed. Technically that's not unit 01 its unit 13. Both of them are very similar visually. Basically the way I interpret the evangelion timeline (and I feel most would probably agree) is you have the original anime , then end of evangelion , and everything that happens after end of evangelion is alternate reality/reboot stuff.
