19 Confessing to a priest or a pastor is a Catholic heritage. And the so-called confession to God in secret is a pure lie in an attempt to ease your conscience. The confession has always been public in the early Church. Peter, James, John, Elizabeth and Mary Magdalene practiced the public confession.
