I would like to add that Nate Wood had a big part in connecting me to Tigran as well. I had been playing with Nate as a part of both Tim Miller and Wayne Krantz's trio at the 55 bar, and Nate subsequently recommended me to Tigran about joining his next album, The Call Within. Huge thanks to Nate Wood for the recommendation!

Terrific!!!! Seriously Evan, wouldn't you say that Tigran composed the perfect union between Meshuggah and Frank Zappa after they have all lived in Armenia for some decades? Both musical references come in my mind and it's groovy as fuck of course!!! Plus, your performance here is nothing short of mind blowing. Thank you so much for this.

Tigran kind of reminds me a bit of Zappa. Just in the sense that, when it came to music composition, Frank seemed like he was looking for something completely different from everyone else. And it was amazing.

So fascinating I always wondered how Tigran communicates song structure to the band. Sounds like he gives pretty minimal direction. Have you guys ever messed up/gotten out rhythm in a show? Would anyone even notice lol? Not like us mere mortals really know what's going on anyway haha. Love the music though!

Lol I liked the video within 2 seconds, then 4-5 secs in and you're in his band! What's so great about "smaller" artists etc is that you can ask them stuff and get responses. Anyway, at times I WANT to hear Cedric Bixler Savala of The Mars Volta to sing over Tigan's music. Has Tigran ever thought about adding vocals? And is the world small enough that he his roads have crossed with TMV?

Hello Evan; Interesting playing. Perhaps you'll get a chance to play Frank Zappa's "200 Motels" someday. I did, here in Paris, France a few years ago. Near the end after letter V, there is a riff of 43 notes spanning 2 measures (188-189). Three groups of undecuplets (10 notes plus 1), then a group of 10 notes - (a decuplet). Your riff seems easy by comparison. Check it out if you can find the music! 😉
