Your pointing to the inlet water solenoid,not the dump valve!,which is stuck open hence draining out through the dump valve.

With those inlet solenoids you can often change the orientation of the electrical tabs by undoing the four screws on the casing and rotating the solenoid in 90 degree increments. I would always want them facing down or horizontal to stop moisture accumulating against the contacts.

Thanks for sharing. Helped with my leak. Mine is a little different in that there is a water tube that runs from the outlet side of the inlet valve (yours in the video is blind and blocked off) to the dump valve. The idea with mine is that if water is flowing it sends water pressure to the dump valve and closes it. When the pressure is released (ie the solenoid shuts off the water flow) the dump valve opens. Anyway mine turned out to have a perished needle for the needle and seat. Luckly I had a newish 24 AC solenoid which was identical inside so I swapped over the needle and good as gold. So for me $0 cost.

Question, does one need to isolate the power before unplugging and replacing the solenoid?

As my old man worked for brivis almost his whole life ive had a go at troubleshooting our evap cooler not refilling and going by your video its exactly well almost the same unit but my problem im certain after watching your video is the same valve as mine simply no matter what just doesnt have water flow up and into it.i manually filled it with hose and pumps wster up and out onto filter sides fans fine just wont refill.would you say i need to change the same component?

Thats not the dump valve its a solenoid to stop / let water in, similar to what washing machines etc use. The dump valve is the large white hydraulically controlled valve that releases the water in the sump once the water pressure is released ie the water inlet solenoid valve is turned off.
@ItsInOurKernel9 жыл бұрын
+J Grieve Yes, you are correct. It is the water inlet valve that I replaced.
@jgrieve32829 жыл бұрын
No worries, I only knew because I've had to order a new dump valve as mine was leaking around the piston and the unit has only completed 6 years of service. Expensive at $80!

+J Grieve believe it or not I was quoted over $500 to have mine replaced, durh I told them to stick it.

Yeah some places or Plumbers will hope you have no idea of prices or how to replace parts

Where could you buy these valves?

FYI for those who have yet to attack this job. Skip to 4:00 mark first, haha i tried to remove by going up and out too. You'll kick yourself when you find out how easy it is to remove.

Great vid but i have a humming sound when its refills the unit what could it be ? Thanks

I think I have this problem to, although for me it doesn't open fully, causing the pumps to run dry as they're sucking faster than water is allowed in. Did you also have a fan speed problem? Was it turning itself off? I'm hoping this fixes both issues, not sure it will though. Definitely doesn't run anywhere near as fast as your new one does! Thanks for the video, i wasn't sure how fast it was meant to fill, then laughed when i saw your replacement!

Hi. Thank for the video..could you explain how you disconnect wire from the valve?
@ItsInOurKernel7 жыл бұрын
Those are "quick-connect" connections. Just hold the white plastic body of the connector firmly and pull away from the valve. To re-connect just push them together again. Do not pull by grabbing the wire directly as it will stress the crimp connection inside.

My Bonaire is never filling up, the water goes down the drain as soon as it goes into the unit, no leaks, everything just goes straight down the outlet (dump?) valve. Does this mean the dump valve is stuffed?
@yungthai89305 жыл бұрын
There is a mechanical dump valve sitting above the point where the water drains out. That dump valve did fail on my unit and was replaced under warranty. In your situation the valve is stuck up either due to the valve being fault or due to an electrical failure with the circuit that operates the valve. It is most likely a mechanical fault and you may need to replace that valve (to ensure your water fills up again etc...) Good luck with it.

@@yungthai8930 thx yung, will take a look tonight when I get home Ours is 8+ yrs old, so probably no warranty :(

Its the water supply. Nothing to do with dump valve

I had mine replaced and now, although there's no leak, the Breezair line keeps feeding water to the cooler at about 0.2 gpm(gallons per minute) when it's turned on, only stopping momentarily. Yet on my flat roof, there is NO WATER leaking or overflowing from the cooler. When the cooler is turned off, there's no water going through the water softener- none.(&*%$##!!) So it isn't a leak somewhere else.
