Very nice, thanks for putting the vid and visual aid together! I've repaired and worked on cars, motorcycles, amplifiers, etc., and had questions about how electric scooters and bikes were put together, this is very helpful. It would be nice if the manufacturers had a shop manual and a schematic available. In theory an electrically driven vehicle should be easier to repair and last longer.

This really explains all the components well, that's for the effort that went into making the video. I watched it to help me find a power problem with my bike as when I click Low setting to Medium there is a power increase as you'd expect but then when I click to High I can hear it click in but only for a fraction of a second. I had the battery tested as I thought there was a bad cell or two when demanding more power as in High mode but the battery is fine. Any where else I should be looking please? Thank you.

Sir - thank you very much for making this video. I have been working on a electric trike I bought very very cheap. It was left for a couple of years. This video has given me better understanding of what IM looking for. Only problem is that there are no labels on the wires and the controller is labelled in Chinese. At least now I have a starting point. Thank you.

awesome video! I have a dual motor set up with 2 controllers. im wondering how I can get the throttlen to move both wheels at the same time...currently I took the signal wire of one controller & integrated it in with the other controller...one wheel spins, I release the throttle, & depending on how slowly I open the throttle in the next engagement of motors both wheels will turn, buts trying to find a sweet spot on the throttle for both to turn...opening widely itll just go to spin either wheel without the other turning...any help would greatly be appreciated

How aggressive are electronic brakes? The video shows the wheel stop immediately. Do they just cause drag to slow you down or lock the wheel and throw you into the handlebars? Great video!!! A lot of controllers I've seen on eBay have tons of wires but nothing is labeled.

Good video. Very well laid out. Question, I see some throttle controllers have a USB port. I assume it gets its power from the 5v delivered to the throttle for the hall sensor. Do you know how many amps the USB connection (A guess the 5v line as well.) might be able to sink? I am interested in possibly using that source of 5 volts to power an LED Pixel strip or two. I also noticed you have what appears to be a 12 volt regulator on your demo board that you did not use. I am guessing it can handle a 60v input. Where do you find that part online? Does it have a model number?
@EVCustoms3 жыл бұрын
Hello my friend.. yes this module is voltage step down converter, it can convert your high voltage 36V-72V to 12V, I recommend you to use this converter for your LED pixel strip, you can find these boards in very low price and with output 12volt or 5volt.
@imho72502 жыл бұрын
I have a test you might be able to do to replicate an issue I’m having with my ebike. The symptoms are that the ebike will sometimes abruptly accelerate with a small throttle input, but the motor runs smoothly and quiet. The brake light 2-wire connector normally has battery voltage (60v nominal) when the ignition is on, but as soon as you squeeze one of the brake levers, this goes to zero. The brake level switches are like yours, Normally Open. But pulling either brake lever will cut power to the motor (no regen or EBS, just power motor coasts to a stop). I started to trace out the wiring harness and several other anomalies appeared. The 3-speed wire from the controller has 3 wires (as expected), but only 2 wires (50% and 120%) are plugged in running forward. But the 3-speed switch has 3 wire connector. Clearly this means they borrowed ground from somewhere else. But like on your other video where you added 50%, 120%, and EBS, you also borrowed a ground from something else. My wiring harness, after it goes from the back to the front of the ebike, has several wires spit off into common wires. I think the grounds, the 5V and the 60v wires from the controller are all shared. The controller also doesn’t have a dedicated 3-wire connector for throttle. It’s bundled up in a 6-pin connector with brake cut out. I know most of the ebike controller functions are either ON or OFF, either having 3-5V or being pulled down near 0. But the throttle has variable value from 0.8v to 3.6v, and if that signal fluctuations it will tell the controller to speed up or slow down. So my question is, is it possible for any of these shared wires to cause unstable throttle signal since these are pretty small wires going about a meter forward, which might allow a small voltage change on both the ground and +5V from where it is in the controller board to where it’s uses up front. Also when I went to open my controller it uses spring steel clip inside to hold the mosfets to the controller side. No external screws. I didn’t want to break it so I put it back together. Lol. But I wanted to identify each wire leaving the controller so I can make sure the throttle has its own dedicated 0v, 5V and signal wire going from the throttle to the controller, and see if that gives stable throttle. I think if I only connect the essentials (batter +/-, 3 phase wires, 5-pin hall sensors, ignition, and throttle, and leave the brakes and 3-speed and everything else disconnected, if it still has a problem then it’s the throttle or controller. My controller tag says it’s 48/60v, 120 degrees, Brake HI, 27A, 42/52v under voltage, 3-speed.
