That doesn't look like somethings devs are considering for Echoes. Faster pace and more attention in order to speedup income seems to be the goal here.

After the nerf, using rapids, dps dropped 70 points from 570 to 500 on the cyclone (2 adaptive, large booster, cap battery, mwd). Switching to regular launchers, dps is 640 with same tank oriented low slots. Also, hitting those drakes with a cyclone gets about 2900-3300 damage using regs. Vs the drake damage 5000-5200 per volley with regs. Cyclone does slightly better against smaller ships with the explosion velosity bonus. Drake does massively better vs larger ships with the 50% damage type increases. And with same low slots as cyclone, with 20% more resist, should tank the same for ratting fleets.

I agree, however due to the slower speed of the Drake and its sig, ill be firmly sticking to my Cyclone. Lwts hope they change the Drakes ship abilities 🤞

Just watched this properly for the first time. I've got extensive experience of both boats and possessed both simultaneously for long enough to compare closely. My cop out conclusion ( 😄) is that they're simply meant for different purposes - but that difference is pretty refined and not very definite. I've used both at range. I've used both for brawling. The Drake tanks better at brawling the Cyclone is faster. In the end, my reason for keeping the Drake and selling the 🌀is because the Drake fits in with my idea of how I want to progress in warfare skills. General range is associated with rank and your collective use to your corp/alliance as your abilities mature. As much as brawling is enjoyable, becoming more competent and eventually more competitively superior at operating the larger boats like BC, BS and beyond, is a better asset for an experienced player to provide the team than brawling. The Drake is better training at those skills than the 🌀- whilst not being bad at the up-close-and-personal fun at all! So in the end it was a no brainer decision for me. Obviously, the 🌀 will always be one of my favourite ships though - how could it not be! o7

Looks like CCP ruined Drake and long ranged missile fits overall. Face tanking in Cyclone is much more fun and you're basically getting insta-loot. Given the amount of time you need to spend on mission plus amount of distance you'll travel away from anomaly plus amount of time spent on looting it's gonna be ridiculously slow. As for 1.5mil hard ones - NOS cyclone can do those mostly AFK and the bounty is ~2.5mil. So I'd say it's on par with 2.5mil advanced ones, but you're getting those 1.5mil always, no need to "feel lucky" doing refreshes :)

Agreed, the main problem i have with the hard missions and all these 1.5m rewards is time; it takes way too long to complete a 1.5m.

Probably agree. I appear to have unwittingly settled on the same play style with the Cyclone as yourself - maybe more skirmishing than brawling - mostly because it's comfortable. Don't think I'd want to transfer to 'range tanking'; with the Cy, you don't need to and it's already perfectly capable. So yeah, maybe the Drake _is_ superfluous

Just abuse resistances while they are OP ships like this can push 80% res to all. Thats taking 20% damage from all sources. That makes your heals so much more effective. Can't wait to get t8 here in a few days and show what this thing is really capable of resistances are best stat in the game mmm

The cyclone can have 80% resies with zwo Red and one yellow c-type hardener. I think the Drake kann habe much more. With the 80% cyclone i was death in a mission and i was not solo. We need more than this. Thats Not a Bit OP.

Its kind of relative in a way, my Cyclone gets 70% average resists but boosts double the shield amount. Thanks for watching 🖖

Instead of all the cap rigs use a dynamic fuel valve mkii or higher, the reduction of cost on the ab makes the cap much more stable and leaves room to fit velocity rigs, 2 hurts and one dmg module, i brawl mine with rapids 1 MkIII dmg rig 2 burst mkii, 2 velocity rigs mii and a dynamic mkii, 2 reds, a med booster, ab and a large cap bat all blue modules, 83% resists except em at 79%, doing t9 and t10 anoms never hit lower than 90% sheilds and face tanking, mid slots I use a pred scram, tracking and a vyr nos all other modules blue

I sold my Drake already haha. Now running Cyclone with 61/65/75/79 resists but boosting 652 shield every 5 seconds with 880dps. Been tanking T9's and Story missions OK

It goes up based on your skills learned. If he looks at one in his inventory rather than fitted, it will show the standard range before skills are applied

Whether fitted or not they still show 27.95kms...advanced missile skills are done (expert not started yet)..

@@Pompy88 you get some range from the skill called "medium missle upgrade". It is just below the first medium skills. You also get range from missles guidance system it's a low slot item and you can get range from rigs that increase flight velocity of missles and another one that increases flight time on missles.

Yes I figured it out, the 25k was a breeze. It was all a scare post patch with the hype around mission changes... its not so bad and in regularly brawling Sweet Poision in my Cyclone - ill make a video on it!

Why not torpedos? You have shield resistance, you can swap brawler fit and the torpedos will melt them quite fast

The Drake has no bonus to missile explosion velocity like the Cyclone does, so even with 1 less launcher, the Cyclone will apply Torpedo damage to cruisers and lower better than the Drake

@@Vulgaels you can, but are then likewise taking away a damage Rig. Problem with the Cyclone vs Drake for Brawling, is the Drake is so much slower, speed equals alot when it comes to tanking. Drake also is bigger. I was a huge fan of the Drake in EO, and I tried every which way to try and better my Cyclone, but sadly I couldn't.

@@reeper4842 cool thanks for the info! Currently sitting in a Gila and wondering if i should swap to BC for PVP or go crazy for battleships haha RattleSnake seems to be the bomb, but at the same time cruisers and BCs are so diverse and easier to replace in fleet PvP ops
