Eve of Destruction was a mod for Battlefield 1942 and became redundant when DICE decided to make BF Vietnam, although it was ported over to quite a few BF iterations after. I'm one of the makers of the original and I'm not happy to see this being sold on Steam now :(

I was still around for the BFV version and ported some of my maps over which was quite easy since it's pretty much the same engine. I had to stop because I was busy working fulltime on another game. They made another version for BF2 later, but it wasn't very popular. You can get BF1942 for free from EA which means you can play EoD for free, and there's still people playing it from time to time. Shame that the engine doesn't support 16:9, it's really off putting.

I wouldn't call it stolen, nobody is claiming copyright for their creations. I'm not sure if that would even be possible. But calling it a one-man-show isn't quite right either, there was a metric ton of people contributing to this. Also, 'No budget' can't be true, there was a license for unity and he had to fill up the assets he couldn't port (because they belong to DICE) with asset packs.

Eve of Destruction was originally a mod for Battlefield 1942 (before even BF:Vietnam), and was eventually rebuilt for Battlefield 2. It was pretty great if I remember right. This clearly hasn't survived the transition to being a standalone game.

I'm familiar with the Eve of Destruction series and even know of the guy who made this. For those who don't know the Eve of Destruction series were a bunch of mods made for Battlefield 1942 and later Battlefield 2. They were actually praised for their quality (this game as you can tell does not compare at this time). Some of the mod team for the original Eve of Destruction ended up working on Battlefield Vietnam. Ultimately it is a shame to see this game released in this present state. I had hopes that Lotte (the dev working on this) would have had the game in better state.

is it just me or are the assets stolen from older BF games 1942, and Vietnam. the first building jim walks into looks super familiar. the vietnamese radio transmissions also sound familiar. Edit: Scrolling through the rest of the comments i saw many people saying it was a BF1942 mod. that would explain the familiarity. kind of an interesting case. technically stolen assets, some obviously belong to DICE EA. others were probably bought on the unity store. some coding was probably required to get it to run on unity. would somewhat explain the wacky physics. although BF1942 physics were kinda crazy to, lol.
