Eve Online - Are Research Agents worth the grind? - 8 Years of of R&D is how much ISK??

I definitely found it worth it. It was nice to come back to nearly a B in isk after not playing for 3 years. The grind takes only a few days if you stick to the same corp.

I did setup my 4 agents long time ago. It was worth it for datacores. Nowadays it's not IMHO. Datacores come from scanners in big numbers and priced very low. If I was a newbie I woudn't for sure, I'd rather would grind Caldary faction standing to decrease broker's fee.

To be fair the used to be worth something and if the game was something you knew you'd be playing for 10 years or more than why not?

Hi Strange, I just found your channel today. Subscribed immediately as it touches my sweet spot (Non-PvP). I first started research agents in 2006-ish (taking ragequit years off depending on how badly I got ganked by the CODE variant at the time :)). I made literally billions of ISK from datacores until the nerfed prices. Now I periodically collect datacores but keep them for my own research. Name ingame: 'gobergin'. I hang out in Minmatar space primarily except for the occasional trip to/from Jita.

Welcome aboard! Gald you have been enjoying the vids. Thats what I love about Eve is its vast scope, Ive never done moon mining either! Id forgotten about my datacores tbh sure a post on the EveO which got me thinking and someone posted on one of my vids that hes makes X per month so had to check it out. Thanks for the sub!

I did this with my main character and the 2 other characters available on my account for 16 lvl 4 agents. I also used this idea with PI to obtain resources from 18 planets. The profit varies with the market but waiting for the desired prices takes no effort just time. PI does a lot better than datacores in the long run. But it is passive isk so who can complain.

RD points are halved if not Omega, and will double if you run their, either courier mission or give them Titanium for there research. The data cores are really handy if doing invention (coping for certain items). Always pick the highest selling ones for your R&D even if your doing invention, as you can sell them off and buy what you need at a bit of profit. Please don't kill the market, otherwise you lose also.

so i have been away from Eve for 11 years, just seen this video and holly crap Batman i forgot I had 5 R&D agents, now got 1.5mil RP and no idea what the hell to do with it or how much it will be worth.

Probably worth around 1.5 bil give or take so not great but half decent considering 😜

When i quit i was making 50B a day. Not sure with the new indy/reaction mechanics what that would be in todays markets but ya.

Its a pain when the R&D agent you want ends up being 10 jumps away from your corp system.

My five toplevel R&D agents work out to nearly 100 jumps for a grand tour....... but once a while I go get all my datacores. Never had a BPO or special perk but I do use the cores for research. - after listening further I now know why my datacores dropped in price so far during one of my ragequit 'off years' :)

Was that 2b for each agent? If so that lowers the entry cost as the skills only cost once and you have 5 agents running so on the /12, /30 you did for daily income you are up to c27m...... or did I miss something?

I am curious. With the amount of isk roughly being 2 billion just for the core, would it not be much higher when you add in all the stuff from the missions themselves that you do to earn the points in the first place?

Hmm, I started in 2016 with missions for sisters of eve but after about 3 weeks got so bored I almost quit the game. So no, I like action, pew pew, shooting people in the face and collecting corpses xD
