Gas huffing can be a fun change of pace in exploration, which is why exploration is so great in the first place! You might find a DED site, a relic / data site, a wormhole, or gas, and you can do whatever sounds fun that day. The thought of logging in to stare at the same ice belt in the same system day after day with a huge investment in ships to make a tiny amount of ISK sounds like a punishment rather than something I'd want to spend my free time doing.

Gas I do in my free time, for this reason specifically. If and when Im in work, I will do Ice mining, because it doesn't require a lot of input

To get an orca booster fully trained to be good will take about a year including all the extras you need e.g fitting and industry core etc, 2 years to really round out a boosting orca ice miner

Gas is so lucrative, especially due to how fast it can be huffed!

@@Expedishun Just remember get the implant and the syndicate scoops So much faster. I know a fella uses Gnosis with scoops and 2 covs insane how fast he clears a gas cloud

Do you need to scan a gas site in a different (scanning) ship?

Yea, I use the Buzzard or the Astero for scanning then jump into a Prospect. What you can do if you’re travelling for it is, bring a mobile depot with probe launcher and use the prospect for it alp

wiki.eveuniversity.org/Gas_cloud_harvesting check out this site. It has the locations for each gas cloud, find the one in your region. You will need to scan it down across multiple systems

i fly an Ice Mining fleet.. 1 Orca 3 Hulks and 6 Macks :D clears an ice belt in a little over 2hrs :D

Please don't tell me he is just figuring this out now lol When your ready to be a big boy put them syndicate scoops on your Cov and Get out your Porp. LS all the way ! Also If your in a LS corp they probably run a system that has ice, like we do. Then you mine the hell out of it too

As someone who is a solo player, getting a Cov and Porp into low sec, just seems like Suicide for me. I prefer to take in the Prospect so I can get in and out fast

Haha yeah you can’t even use ice mining equipment without omega it is physically impossible
