I am brand new to EVE and have been scouring the internet for content in my efforts to learn the game. It quickly became clear that your channel not only puts out the best EVE gameplay, these videos provide a level of teaching that no encyclopedia, web-course, video guide nor contemporary channel can offer. Understandably, showing what EVE is like can be very difficult but your videos capture the rush of pvp and present it in a way for a newbro like me to understand without effort. Thank you for your work to put this out, hope you're doing better. I look forward to see more from you

There isn’t much of an internet presence. The eveuni wiki is even bad. What you do find are outdated or awful tutorials or just the elitists since that’s mainly who play this game. Drop $20 and buy a new ship and get back out there.

If you're looking for similar channels focused on small-scale pvp: chessur is great for concepts (though he hasn't uploaded in years) and Meha Taredi posts often with solo small stuff.

@xPreatorianx12 жыл бұрын
Yes, despite everyone and their brother always saying EVE is dying. Player counts are a bit low. But you login, you'll find people to play with and people to kill. In every part of space. (Highsec, lowsec, null, and wormhole.) EVE is far from dead.

This is the worst thing about EVE. This entire battle was fought on a 3D graph. Can't see any ships. Can't see any weapons fire. Just lines and dots. So sad.
@LaskerEmanuelEVE2 жыл бұрын
I have it set this way on purpose because the effects set of my sensory sensitivity (and lead to migranes, etc.), literally if not for this setting I cannot play.

@illuminati Confirmed sorry you're not smart enough to play a game more complex than COD.

@@LaskerEmanuelEVE I think it's awesome just to have you able to play. With all the awesome stuff in your videos, your eve graphical settings are the least concern. On another note its sort of neat how despite the above comment being completely true, with some game knowledge I feel like I could see that fight playing out as I was watching it, almost like theater of the mind in tabletop games.
@xPreatorianx12 жыл бұрын
While this mode - is unique to Lasker. (Meaning I've seen no one else use it. Hell I didn't even know it existed.) The "zoomed out" view you are probably hinting to, is honestly just how most of us play. EVE, especially in PVP, requires being able to absorb as much information as possible in as little time as possible. (That's why you always see multiple windows on footage you've seen of the game. Every one of those has a function. Overview, Probe Scanner, Inventory, chat windows, intel channels, etc.) So while it would be nice to zoom back in on your ship, or do "look at" in reference to the enemy you are targeting, it leads to tunnel vision. Which WILL get you killed. I'm going to take a guess and say you've never played EVE, or never played EVE long enough to truly play it. (Meaning you grasped the game enough to be proficient in anything.) As you would already know - this is just one of those games where the eye candy, just isn't practical for actually playing it. As again, you need to absorb as much information as humanly possible, in as short of time possible. So being zoomed in on your ship, is not the "correct" way of doing it. Unless your mining. But, even then, you shouldn't be focused on your ship, but everything else going on around you. (Overview, local, D-scan, your cargo hold, your cycle time on your miners, etc.) Honestly, at this point the developers keep improving the eye candy simply to attract new players AND for ship spinners. 99% of the game you play it zoomed out, and in pretty much everything but solo PVP, on Potato mode, for the performance. (Setting all graphics settings to low.) ESPECIALLY in nullsec fleet ops. If you aren't running potato mode. You'll die long before you load grid. If you do load grid, you are going to be chugging along at 2 FPS and will never be able to do anything. EDIT: Hell even when I do PVE content, I'm never focused on my ship. I'm manipulating the camera/zoom level to get more information. Especially in what are called Abyssal sites. (Which essentially are the only instanced content in the game. And they require ship/module/implant setups that are worth $100+ if you translate the PLEX cost to ingame currency.) These sites are hard. I'm constantly adjusting my camera position and zoom level. To get a good view of "the battlefield", manually pilot my ship, etc. So I'm never focused on the eye candy. It might as well not exist. PS: But EVE is a really hard game. It's also a game, that despite CCP trying to improve the barrier to entry in the form of "New Player Experience" never seems to get easier from first download to "being able to do stuff without being confused." Back in the day, so about 6 months after EVE launched, I said your first year in EVE is learning the game. Your second year is starting to actually play it and enjoy it. I think that time has been brought down to about 6 months now. MAYBE 3 months, if you are lucky. But the barrier to entry for newcomers, is something that CCP will never solve. As that barrier to entry isn't so much dependent on their ability to explain things in an easily digestible manner, but the ability for a new player to get lucky enough to find a corp/person in game, to really teach them the ropes. To Shepard their experience. It's a love it or hate it game, and requires extreme patience when starting. Way higher then any other MMO on the market. You might as well call it a sim. As it has the learning curve of a diehard sim, just not the playstyle.
@Chreeeis2 жыл бұрын
There's more to games than space ships and explosions, the only sad thing here is your limited ability to enjoy stuff
