Evelyn was 5'3", slight build, chipped tooth--and that's what she looks like here. Other distinguishing features were her chin, lips, and hips. Hips not visible here but the other features match. I have seen rare pics of Evelyn from the late 20's and she DID look like this. The date would appear correct also as Evelyn in 1933 had divorced (finally) her husband, Jack Clifford, and that's probably what this song was in reference to. Lastly the singer refers to herself as "Miss Nesbit". It's her.

Marmarless1 is correct. Also, you can google "evelyn nesbit edwardian" and there is a picture of her smiling some years earlier where you can clearly see the dental situation. Compare photos of yourself at 15 and 45 :) @ Christopher - thank you for uploading this.

Plus there are several photos of her in the 1920s where she looks very similar to how she does here. I don't see what is so hard to believe that this a woman in her 30s or 40s. She's obviously older than a 20-something, and at certain angles the age under her eyes does show up a bit. Black and white photography was miraculous in hiding flaws, especially to do with the skin. Anyone who pays attention surely has noticed that as digital technology has taken sharper and sharper pictures and video, that actors visibly have more wrinkles now in movies or tv than they did even in the 1980s and 1990s. There's something to be said for the softening of reality in earlier forms of visual technology.

Plus that haircut and bangs didn't suit her face, I would say she looks good/ pretty for her age but she didn't have that glamorous sharp facial features like Joan Crawford that would make her standout past her prime. Apparently after a while she gave up this lifestyle and went to raise her son's children and did some Ceramics teaching in the 1950's, nobody from the newer gen of 60's knew her or her past but she says their grandparents knew and she would gossip with them about the past scandals.

Most women start to go south after 30 and after having kids. There is a change that takes place. Just look at all the ladies in their 40s-50s-60's all grandmas. With very few exceptions. Some absolutely gorgeous women just lose their beauty with age. Same goes for men. IF people could only see what some older people USED TO look like, they wouldnt believe it. One example was Elvis. As soon as he hit 40, he turned into an obese man. At 42, dropped dead. If people don't maintain their physical activity and eat well ALL their lives, inevitably they will lose their good looks as they age. Fact.

I agree. It's like Lynette Perry from the show "Ragtime" getting up and singing about being Evelyn. The introduction by the woman in the full video sounds more like it's a 'nudge, nudge, wink, wink' thing here, not the actual woman. Saying that the nose, eyebrows and such are the same as Nesbit is like saying ears could be used to positively identify Anna Anderson as the Grand Duchess Anastasia.
