The car's Owner is Steve Plunkett. Steve’s had this car since 2004. Steve shares he loves the styling of this car. Only 304 were made in 1958. This car was once owned by Bob Hope the Actor and Comedian.

A very very special car. I've only ever seen one, hidden away in a barn far out in the country, owned by an eccentric and reclusive Cadillac collector. There were other nice old Cadillacs in the garage, but this one was out in s barn, completely covered and i had to promise I'd never say a word about having seen it, which I didn't. It was stunning and in absolutely perfect shape. That was in 1987 and at that time i didn't even know that such a car existed. I had never before seen a stainless steel roof or suicide doors on a Cadillac. That was 37 years ago now and i still consuder it an unexpected thrill of a lifetime.

Noticing the bit of difficulty in opening the back door at 4:40, I’ve always wondered how much extra stiffening the car manufacturer had to add to the frame for cars with “suicide doors” like this Eldo, and even more notably, the early ‘60’s Lincoln convertibles.

Beautiful auto. A shame that the exhaust, sometime in its life, was incorrectly replaced like with so many other classics. Factory exhaust actually exited from those louvered areas on the sides of the rear bumper, and was VERY QUIET. Loud engines and exhausts were not considered to be luxurious in that era except for certain performance models starting in the late 60s.
@markg7030
@markg7030 4 сағат бұрын
Yes that is true. It was done the wrong way to keep the bright work clean.....some Oldsmobiles had the exhaust come out of the bottom rear quarter panels in the 1960's.
