Probation doesn't close for Adventists all at once. It starts with those who've had the most light. First he dead are judged (starting in 1844), then the living starting with those who have had the most privilege and light.

There will be several phases of the Sunday law. At first, it won't be as restrictive. During this time, faithful Adventists will be giving the loud cry of final warning to the world and those still in the fallen churches. Many will be converted to the truth as the Sabbath is proclaimed more fully, and many will also be martyred for their faith. When the final phase is enacted and the universal death decree is established, and the faithful are forced to find shelter in the mountains and caves, then general probation will close, and he that is unjust will be unjust still, and he that is filthy will be filthy still. He that is righteous will be righteous still, and he that is holy will be holy still (see Rev. 22:11). Once the general probation closes, there will be no more martyrs because their death would accomplish nothing as everyone's case has already been decided.

What I'm saying is, the close of probation is not a single event it starts with Seventh-day Adventisrs because they have had more light and should know the truth and be settled into it. Many have not had nearly as much light. When national Sunday laws start to become an issue, probation will have already closed for many Adventusts, but not for those who have not had the light yet, including many young or new Adventisrs who have not yet settled into the truth.
