@@bumblerbreeyeah I was gonna say. Gaslighting is an attempt to make a person doubt their reality and perceptions and think they’re crazy. Cathy tried to make him think he’s completely off for even suspecting her, and that he offended her honor when he expressed his discomfort with her actions. Reversal of victim/offender. He even apologizes to her, buying into her distortion of reality. She went way beyond “oh, I just don’t understand what you’re talking about.” This is really manipulative in a way that is typically identified as “gaslighting.” That said, Jim shouldn’t have fallen for it for even a second, he should’ve just been firm and kicked her out.

He's secure in his relationship with Pam, thought he and Cathy were just good friends and was afraid he was reading into stuff too much. As someone who has had all of those feelings, i think Jim handled it pretty much exactly the way he could've been expected to. Immediately kicking her out just isn't his personality. Does Jim technically admit, to us, that she’s attractive? Or it’s just that he’s not going to say it? I personally think you can find someone attractive without being attracted to them.

I never understood the whole Kathy jim dynamic. As a faithful man who has never cheated I would never allow that situation in the hotel to occur. And if Pam and Jim are so in love neither would he. It would be more important to have to keep the sanctity of his marriage rather than offending someone who is obviously making moves or creating an uncomfortable situation
