The Song of the Bride Your spirit is perfectly made to be united and transformed into your Father's image. You truly are made to be married to Him. There may be an initial union with the Father without this deeper merging of your spirit with His. But this deep exchange is the kind of union with your Father I am discussing. Your spirit can be united to the Father in this way because that is what it was made for, Paul called this "being changed into His image" 2 Corinthians 3:18, Jesus called it "oneness" John 17:11, 21 & 22. Deep union with the Father/Jesus thru the Holy Spirit takes place only when you surrender your self-nature/(monkey) to exist only in Him. There is a deep fellowship where you stop preserving the self (monkey), and lovingly and perfectly sink into Him. Certainly this does not mean that you lose your own personality and become your Father/Jesus. If you allow a drop of water to fall into a cup of wine, the water loses its own form and character. The water is apparently changed into wine; however, the water will always remain distinct in some way. So you see you will never become your Father/Jesus, and you do have the choice to separate yourself from Him. Deep and lasting union with your Father/Jesus, thru the Holy Spirit, the spiritual marriage, is what you should ask of your Beloved. Let your passion cause you to proclaim to Him your deepest desire; "Let Him kiss me with the kisses of His mouth." The bride in the Song of Songs/Solomon asks it of Him as though she were addressing someone else; in third person: an impetuous exclamation of love, giving vent to her passion without specifying to whom she is speaking. Chapter 1:1---Let Him kiss me with the kisses of His mouth. What is this kiss? It is complete spiritual union: a real permanent, and lasting experience of the Father's nature. The kiss is the union of Father's spirit(heart) to your spirit(heart). When a person is first converted, he is united to the Father but he has not yet come to experience Him deeply. There is a deep and abiding union with Christ that you can come to know. The height and breadth, and depth of the Father will take an eternity to know. Here is what this woman, the bride of Christ, cries out to know. There are two kinds of union with the Father. One is to feel a sense of His presence for a few moments or hours. Deep and lasting union, however, continues in the midst of any circumstance. Let me try to explain. When you first come to experience the Lord you do not know Him very well. There is much in you that is not like Him and you do not understand the purpose of your Lord. This time is like an engagement period. The Father stirs up your love for Him, you present each other with tokens of your mutual affection, but you still do not fully know or enjoy your Beloved. But there is a deeper union with the Father that can be thought of in terms of a spiritual marriage. Your spirit(heart) is fully united to Him. You are His without reservation. There is a communication of substance: the Father unites Him self with your spirit(heart) and you are able to begin to explore the fullness of Him. The journey toward this complete union is what is being described in the Song of Songs: It is a place where your spirit(heart) is completely possessed by the Father. Barrenness and unfruitfulness are not known here. The "kiss of His mouth" is nothing less than the vital communication of the Word of God(Jesus of Nazareth) to you thru the Holy Spirit. Consider that Jesus is called "the Word." His touch to the spirit(heart) is perfect enjoyment and consummation of spiritual union.
