Shivananju Kailash i think the question was asking how much Mary should tell the police that she has lost with her business at the time of the call, which was the $7 change plus the rope. And you r right, she does “owed” the grocery store for another $10, however, Mary cant just knowingly switch the counterfeit bill back with the clerk, its against the law and both can face charges if they do.
