"Just a Closer Walk with Thee". Go Briley!!!! I had never hear of the "Red Back Hymnal" until Natalie talked about it. I keep hearing about it, and I just ordered me a copy.
@marciamcgrail5889 Жыл бұрын
Briley is sooo right about the speed of real hymnal - too many are played at such a funeral pace that modern congregations ditch them in favour of much cooler 'praise songs'. An enthusiastically played & well sung psalm is worth its weight in spiritual gold.

I've listened & played along many times with this video. It was the one that I was introduced to Briley Altman. On July 15, 2024, Briley left us to live in his Heavenly home. I will miss his music & the times he & Natalie have blessed us with their wonderful musical talents.

I love the hymns, I truly do and don’t want to see them ever leave the church. But I agree, there is a place for other music, but many people have written modern worship songs out of struggle and many can bear witness to how something new touched them in every bit as meaningful of a way as an old hymn did for others. When I need to find a new church I try to find one that first of all, preaches the bible, regardless of what name is on the door, I want to hear biblical truth, not denominational doctrine and secondly (sometimes firstly depending on what is happening in my life) I want a church with a nice blend of music, some older, some newer, no set schedule, if they have to play one hymn or one modern song and the rest all the opposite of the “one” then I won’t be there long. I want a church where the leaders follow the spirit!!!
