Yes, this looks really complex, I was overwhelmed just by looking at it. This option however is awesome where you can just rent things. For some reason, I hate returning stuff even to Amazon. I would be much happier to try things way.

It’s just a great system, it’s blockbuster video for guitar stuff and I’m kind of with you in general I hate returning things that I’ve bought. Even to Amazon!

I love my H90 and the best way to make or edit a preset through a computer interface but it does take a week of fiddling with to get the hang of editing on device. Its every modulation pedal I could ever want plus more.

Yeah the sound quality and potential really is incredible, it's just a shame the UI is way too cumbersome even on the computer for me to want to live with it full time.

Well, this was a trip. Despite how un-user friendly the unit is, especially for people who don't live in that world, the sounds - and your ability to play appropriately and tastefully to the patches - are fantastic and the playing in this was super enjoyable. Lovely, cinematic and ambient soundscapes that were a joy to listen to and would definitely suit film and game scoring (and post rock!). Really enjoyable stuff but appreciate that, to be honest, theres combinations of pedals and other ways of getting great sounds thats far cheaper and easier to use for folks like me. But as an 'all in one' for those who want everything in one box and are used to tinkering in that sort of way or can invest the time to use it in-depth, I'm sure it's a great solution.

This is why my frustration was so large, the sounds are incredible and genuinely film/game/syndication ready quality. It's just getting there is a bit of... yeah.

I feel the same way with my Boss RC-600 Looper, it has a ton of effects but it is so miserable to program with so much menu diving that I hardly use it. There is an aftermarket computer editor available but I’m a little leery on using it. Also why can’t Boss provide an editor? I should have never gotten rid of my ME-70, everything is right in front of you, with knobs to physically touch! Great review by the way, saved me 1000 bucks!

The H90 Seemed inspiring at first but after watching this demo, it looks a creativity killer by way of an overly complicated UI. Fractal stuff is the same IMHO, as in it sounds good but the UI is wanting, particularly on the unit. At gigs and rehearsals especially, I need an easy UI. In that setting, I need to work quickly from the said piece of gear and I am not going be tethered to a computer. No music director or band leader is going to be OK with me d#$&ing around to adjust a sound, wasting everyone's time. YMMV. PS Grateful to Jim for introducing Buy or Borrow music store. I am psyched to try some Origin Effects. PSS Speaks volumes to how my simple MXR and Boss pedals still cannot be beat for great sounds and adjustability on the fly. "Hey, Rummy, give us some tremolo for the next number. (Band leader snapping fingers) And a 1, 2, a 1, 2, 3, 4..."

Hello Jim, I have a question only you might be able to answer... sorry not related to this video. I have the MIJ Junior Collection Jazzmaster.. It comes with a Mustang style bridge. I need to raise it a tad... What size hex allen key fits this bridge? Anyone know the answer?

The early sound samples sounded good, shame that you need a training course just to enter your own settings. This one must have been designed by someone that has yet to learn how to play a guitar, they didn't find the time to do that. $900 is a lot of money if you don't like the presets out of the box.

i knew it'd be menu diving but the training course is indeed kind of brutal and overkill for no reason. other manufacturers make it really easy to do basic things.

$900? Max-MSP costs half as much & you could probably run it on your old 2011 laptop that is lying in your drawer. And if you don't want to pay for Max-MSP, there are free alternatives such as Pure Data, PraxisLIVE & Reaktor, all of which will get you much of the same results as this pedal. I know the price on music gear from established brands (Roland) typically gets marked up, but $900 is a bit of a joke for this in my opinion. Also, nice Gengar.

Yeah there's tons of other options available for sure, and at the price I can certainly understand why it's not on every players pedal board but the people that convinced me to try it swear by theirs on their main gigging rigs so I figured why not right

That's kind of my main issue with the UI, if you ever need to do something quick on it and don't have a laptop around good luck with it. It really does sound fantastic but it's a rough one to work with for me at least. That's great to hear, Dave and the gang over there at BuyOrBorrow are great. Which origin effects pedal are you gonna try first??
