Old School by Tobias Wolf was what got me into reading. I am not particularly sure as to why but there was something about it that made me want to keep reading. As a kid it made me really want to be a writer but my father told me that wasn't a realistic goal since we aren't of a high enough class and not of the right gender. I gave away that Tobias Wolf book after that because it made me sad.
