We need over 6,000 blood donations every day to treat patients in need across England. Which is why there’s always a need for people to give blood.
Each year we need approximately 200,000 new donors, as some donors can no longer give blood.
Find your local donor centre and book your appointment today.

Nothing makes me feel like I helping other people as much as when I donate blood. It's so easy, yet very personal /special. I really do recommend it to anybody

Gave blood on Sept 28, 2018. A week later they messaged me that they used my blood to be transfused at a hospital for a patient. I was soooo happy to hear that my blood benefited someone :)

As a blood donor myself (B Rh Positive), this is a very interesting video. I never realised just how so much work is done from when the blood is given by the donor prior to being given to the recipient.

Every time I go to the hospital, they keep asking me to have blood tests🙄. I had to give 4 tubes of my blood. Never saw them again, I can only assume all my blood was poured down the drain🤔🤔.

That’s doubtful. The NHS only usually notify you of a blood result if it’s a problem, if it’s normal they often don’t tell you. Also, that’s different to donating - your blood tests will have been to check different levels indicating whether you’re healthy and well. Giving blood is when healthy people voluntarily donate their blood to be used for sick people who need it.

Donating a pint of blood reduces blood volume, which results in a decrease in blood pressure (just as air pressure in a tire decreases as air is let out of the tire) What effect does donating blood have on heart rate?

Your body will restore your blood volume (plasma) within 48 hours. It will take 4 to 8 weeks to restore your red blood cells.

Does your body replace hemoglobin and all the other cells in your blood ?
@FakhriaNoori
@FakhriaNoori 4 жыл бұрын
Hemoglobin is a protein bound to your red blood cells. The more iron you consume, the more hemoglobin your body can make. Just eat healthy - lots of iron rich foods and water, and you should be fine.
