I thank you for this! I have for years struggled with imposter syndrome (I left college as a 21 year old high school teacher and did well in the field) that I’ve confused with humility. The question that was most powerful for me is “Is it imposter syndrome or is that the story you’re creating?” THAT HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD! This is my bypass as well. I think it’s connected to fear of failure and also my habit of not wanting to put all my effort into something I’m doing! I think it’s really fear, excuses, and procrastination as well…because everyone else around me uplifts that I’m not an imposter. Thank you so much for these questions and this video! I’m going to work more with these questions! 🙏🏾

@@byatiyaj What a great reflection! Definitely a question worth diving deeper into with some self-coaching time. We recommend watching our video on the 3 Types of Fear & How To Overcome Them ➡ kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJ2ViJmEha2Nqck. It might help in your journey to finding clarity. Thanks for sharing ❤

These are excellent thought prompts, especially the very first of trusting process and not trying to bypass to a fruition state of being a "Master Coach" at some hypothetical time in the future. I've become a collector of certifications and trainings largely out of imposter syndrome fear... I appreciate you offering this quality content for free...cheers!

Katy Grey 0 seconds ago Thank you Ajit. You have laid this out so well. It has always bugged me when people would say “oh you mean you have imposter syndrome!? ” And I would think “no, it’s not that!” -You are right! It is a psychological term that is way over used! At times I may have felt not ready, and many times it has been fear. But the big take away is that reluctance to do next steps and get fully prepared is more likely holding many back- and certainly confidence issues. All are workable!

Today I needed to see this! I have been feeling what you described in question 3. Studying, memorising, academia, sports, art, winning in all fields in life came (still comes) easily to me. So for me, it felt like a chance (i don't believe in the concept of luck but as I write this, i realise, what else does chance mean then?) I see people around me, struggle or work very hard and so I for one didnt value my own successes; or if i did, i then put my whole self on this pedestal and now feel like when i begin my journey of coaching - i wont deliver because i didnt really work hard for it. It just came to me. Putting myself on a platform far below on own imaginative pedestal has made me realise, that when you say Im not designed to be God like to cure problems with solutions. I am a conversationalist helping others with my talents like the gift of the gab albeit in a coach like structured way, That is all. Also, the point that the coachees dont care about MY journey and its not about me (not everything should be about me :P) Thanks Ajit! I will have a restful sleep tonight.

I agree completely, recently recognised deeper new parts of myself as I challenge myself to step up. Such as lack of confidence, doubt, critical inner voice, self judgement, procrastination, perfectionism, and other various fear based feelings. They could be classified as imposter syndrome, but i don't want to "have" imposter syndrome, or any other label, illness or story. I have fear, i don't want to be judged or critiqued, or fail or......oh so many things but these are all separate issues. I've tried to describe what's going on for me and for convienience sakes have used the term imposter syndrome, and actually using it, causes me to feel weak and useless, so thanks for the reminder. I am scared, i am doing something new, risky and out of my comfort zone and I'm just being a human....

For me imposter Sysndrom is like a constant voice in my head telling me: No this cant be as easy as you think... and then i start overthinking - slowing down my decission making, struggeling to take daring steps. I barrely ever found any joy in reaching degrees or steps in my career cause it felt like "ok your just some randome dude - nothing achived some have made it further - are you even the right one to do this? What if you fail? It feels like something inside me lurking in a dark corner is taking notes on every misstep just waiting to tell me: I know it all allong. Your just an idiot. A zero. A no one. My way out: Things that impacted my personal habits in a good way have allways been: Do things that you feel naturally attracted to (cause in passion I can switch off my head and get into flow state) Frequently visit places & people that make you feel confident in the way you are (I don't have to wear my fake confidence mask) Meet people who inspire you to question your habits of overthinking by pragmatism and efficency in their life (learn pragmatism and the value of darring to make a misstake) Get aware of your high performance moments & the factors leading you towards them (understanding how I can be the creator of situations i will perform in) Get aware of your negative thoughts and when they accure (understanding of people and situations you should get out of your life or just learning to question if these thoughts are legit) Dont ever try to be someone else cause it wont work anyway (paradoxically wearing a mask to seem confident makes you only fear more cause now you could lose that one live on stage...) Find confidence in your inconfidence Visualization - Create your inner "Napoleon" - I developed a sence of "If things feel easy and undeserved to me - I can push it further". its like creating a inner Picture of possible greatness you can achieve till the point were things wont feel easy anymore. I can hold this picture cause my mission to me feels more important then myself - meaning so what if I fail. Im on the right path. Last Point: Face your fears go to places and face situations that make you nervous and overcome them.

I liked this because I really didn’t relate to the imposter syndrome.. then when you asked are we playing it out.. it wasn’t my story, but it is the question of modernism in indigenous cultures and colonialism. The concept process took me through a lot in 15 mins or so. 🙏🏾✨🌹

Taking notes while watching this I have some more understanding of this term, but I also have more insight. What I feel is that I have compared myself to others and where they are at in their journey, abilities, and education, which has in the past made me feel less than them. As a coach, I'm sure many of you have helped people who improved their life in many different areas that you helped them to create. While doing so you yourself haven't reached the same or a certain level of outcome in your life that you wish to achieve. So, you can help them, but you haven't been able to help yourself and that is what may also be attributed to your imposter syndrome. But as the saying goes, do as I say, not as I do. That leads me to my next thought. I got this idea at the very beginning of the video as he was explaining that he helped bigger businesses compared to his own which lead to him feeling imposter syndrome. I would like to use my unique empathic, intuitive abilities to help people in relationships and individuals to have a better relationships or to find a relationship. A negative thought improved by changing my thinking is, I may not be in a marriage or a long term relationship at this time of my life like the clients that I want to be coaching, but that doesn't define what I have to offer them in helping them to heal and improve their relationship. What I teach I will then know more about and what I will then achieve in my own life. As he said in the video in my own words, my clients only care about their own journey and challenges and if I can help them. Do they feel that I care for them enough by helping and supporting them with my coaching in their journey to reach the outcomes that they wish to achieve? I'm in the process of taking baby steps. I am seeing my progress throughout the process. The question in the video, if I didn't know about the concept of imposter syndrome, I wrote instead, "How would I act if I didn’t define myself beyond who I am and what I do for myself and others today?" This puts me in the present moment by not comparing myself to others or who I want to be or who I once was (define myself beyond who I am) and my previous failures or accomplishments (what I do for myself and others today). Many of us define ourselves by our past selves and where we want to be in the future within the now moment. Feel your present self, even for a few seconds, and see how you answer that question. Thank you for this video.
