Wow did that edge ever roll. My Khukuris are from NEPAL, from GK&CO I have a 6", two 8" and two 10" and one from EGKH the 12" {BEAST} with three Fullers. Man I've chopped Maple and Birch trees with not a spot of edge problems. Yours, I don't know what to say, but that shouldn't of happened. Looking forward in a redo of your edge repairs. I hope you have no repeat damage.

Ouch! I don't think that blade was even water quenched. They probably just shaped it and hoped the thickness of the blade would be enough. Thanks for sharing that man, I was actually looking at their blades on ETSY. Definitely a no go. Stay safe my friend!

Awesome review great testing it out. It's not meant for super heavy duty use. But no problem you can always shapen the blade and get the edge back.

Another Great interview. I think it's time I bought a Good Kurki. Will when I take a trip over there.

I'm sorry to see that, brother . That's a nice bit of coin you gave for that khukuri. I hope she does better after reprofilin. Take care and good luck.

Great content! Can you recommend a Khukuri for hiking and clearing trails? Walking on dry riverbeds, uphills, and old trails full of thorn bushes, shrubs, branches up to 1 inch diameter. Thanks! (don´t know what length, thickness, etc. would be best...)

Kailash Blades make excellent Khukuri and you have several options when you order one . The HSI Khukuri at 11.5” would be great for your needs.GGK Nepal makes great Khukuri as well. A 12” Sirupate is a good option. Look for 11.5” to 13” Khukuri length. You don’t want any more or heavier to do the job. With Kailash Blades go for the performance grind as they cut well. No shorter than 11” as they lack chopping and cutting performance. No longer than 13” as you want to carry and use the blade comfortably. Thank you sir for your comments and have fun mate!
