I believe the message of this music is: Never judge someone you don't know over something you didn't see with your own eyes. to have some compassion with other human beings. And that goes with my life philosophy - everybody fights for what they believe in. So How do you demonize a enemy who fights for whats right in his eyes? in the end we all want the greater good. So in the end, the fight becomes meaningless. A mere stone in our shoes that mankind needs to overcome. Very pretty song by the way.

The problem I have is that they have all these problems because of bad choices. It in not like they were injured in a car accident, got cancer, or their house burned down. Instead it was someone that put drugs and laziness above job, house, family..., another having unprotected sex, another hanging with gangs and pulling a gun... when he has a wife and kids at home. While I like the song personally and I might understand their situation, but I would have little sympathy for these people. They made the choices and likely will keep making bad choices until they hit rock bottom or die.

Good message behind this song you never know what anyone is going through and we should never judge anyone on how they look or come across you just never know what they have been through or are currently going through. Thing it really tells us all to not judge but look out for one another. Always thought a lot about this song.

I can still cry listening to this song. The struggle is real, and it makes me sad that some people have no empathy or respect for other based on preconceived notions. God forbid you might have to walk a mile in someone else's shoes, then you really might know what it's like to sing the blues. Love God, love your neighbour. Always be kind, always be compassionate. Don't judge others. Peace.

This song brings back so many memories of when I was homeless on the streets. I'd hate for my worst enemy to go through what I've been through to hell and back. I told myself know what it was like to have lots of money that I didn't know what to do with and what it was like to have nothing but pieces of paper to eat when I was in prison. But now look back and make me strong and keeps me going. Life is a bitch, but she's mine, though

I have heard this song a thousand times. Always focused on the rhythm of the bass line and the meter of the vocal. Ear candy! Today I really LISTENED TO the lyric for the first time and it had me in tears. What a powerful message. This song just made it into my top 100 of all time.

This song rates up there with Bob Dylan tunes from the 60’s - they are the absolute truth and just as deep - they are timeless and always relevant to us human beings.

this song was big and got a lot of radio play.. but I feel like it didn’t quite get the respect it deserved because it was a “one hit wonder” and was a late comer to the “nu-metal rap/rock” boom. It really is not just a catchy song, but a well written song.
