I had a company do something similar here in Phoenix area and it lasted about 2 years on my outdoor porch that is covered by a roof. We had to chip it all up and do tile instead. So glad I didn't do the whole driveway or anything in the house!

Will a $19 metal tub suffice?
@everlastepoxy8 жыл бұрын
Nope. Tub HAS to be $17 or it won't work. LOL :)
@pieceofmind81248 жыл бұрын
Jessica Blaesing What I did with my 19 dollar tub is I took a measurement, broke the depth down into 19- 1 dollar increments, measured down two increments from the top lip, then used a felt pen to make a line around the entire tub. I tried tin snips at first but they were a pain in the azz, so I drove an hour to the next town where I bought an angle grinder (79.99), and some extra cutting wheels. After cutting off the extra 2 dollar strip, the tub worked great!

Everlast Epoxy Those people at lowes really must not know construction. Even went to corporate asking if they carried the $17 tubs. Nothin'. Are they some specialty tub y'all include with the service? Did y'all patent the $17 tub so we couldn't do it D.I.Y style?

Video is better than most - no annoying music, but the discussion about the car in the background could have been edited out. I like the descriptions about what type/size trowel to use, but I could use more info on setting up the vinyl barrier (assume it is to block the sun-maybe that affects drying time or curing somehow). Also I would like to see what edging was used around the patio to block the stones from falling off the edge. I also don't know how to use a gauge rake. Thanks.
@everlastepoxy7 жыл бұрын
The vinyl barrier was actually tarps. They were nailed to 2x4's and leaned just inside the soffit. The purpose was to keep the rain out while the floor was curing. You could hold the stones in with a 1x4 then remove it when the stones are cure. Put a car wax on it first so the stones don't stick to it. A gauge rake really isn't that hard. If you had one and were tasked with spreading a pile of sticky rocks with it, you'd catch on really quick, I promise. I hadn't used one before my first time using one either.

H E L P!! We moved into a home that has the Chattahoochee pebble stone surface. After the first here (FL) it started molding in-between the pebbles. We lightly pressure washed it and resealed it, we thought it was never sealed when they laid it, now we have horrible white patches all around the pool area. We have resealed it twice and it still looks very patchy, you can tell where the pressure washer has been, it actually has streaks. We did not pressure wash too much under the lanai so it still looks pretty good. However outside the lanai area it looks as if they painted the rocks because the rocks are very faded in large patchy sections. Did we pressure wash the paint off, hard to tell what is going on. Can you guys suggest what we can do to even out the colors?

Make forms out of 2x6's to hold the pebbles against the risers. Leave a 3/4" gap for the pebbles. Put car wax on the side facing the pebbles. Then fill it with the pebbles. Remove it the next day and do the steps.

I purchased all of the bags of rocks, the epoxy, trowels, tarp, spent close to $2000. I finally unloaded it into my back yard. Then I remembered I needed a $17 tub. Ran to home Depot but they only had a $19.99 tub. I was so distraught and depressed I quickly ran home and became a hermit for 8 months. All the supplies still sitting in my back yard. Because I did not leave the house I lost my job and so I had to sell my belongings. Then I decided to cut all of my hair and join a cult. They had jobs for everyone. I was excited cause I really felt I was again worth something. The cult leader assigned me to a job which was written on a sheet inside an envelope. I opened it and the task was to install a pebble floor in the sacrificial hall and had a link to this video. I quickly had a frightening flashback as thought I was back at home Depot........

Why recommend using a Marshall trowels?? 20 yrs in building game never ever seen anybody using a £70.00 trowel doing floors.. Marshall trowels are for smoothing walls/plastering due to their thin blades, use one on cobble stone/ or pebble stone as we call it in UK? You may aswell throw it away, won’t be good for anything else anymore.. and then buy a $17 bucket?? 😂🤣 99p buckets from B&Q would do exactly same job..
