So many people sharing their deep personal connection to this song in the comments. I only started listening to this recently because I got into a band with other kids at my school and this is one of the first songs we started playing together. I've always dreamt of being in a band and my bandmates are such amazing people. I hope in the future I listen to this song and associate it with good things too

A couple years ago I got really attached to Foo fighters, I introduced my ex to the band and she loved it, this was our song, and now every time I listen to it I get the rush of sadness. Only because we broke up over a year ago, her ex broke us up because he was jealous of us, an ex she was dating while we were dating, and she was fine with it. Which broke my heart because I really loved her but our relationship was "platonic" but I later found out she dated me out of pity, but this song also helped me out of my depression after my grandma had passed on December 1st 2019. My love for this song will last forever. (R.I.P. Taylor Hawkins)

I remember being on a vacation in the mountains I didn’t want to be on, and I was in the back of my dad’s truck, sandwiched between my brother and his friend, and then my dad changed the station just in time to hear the host say ‘and here’s everlong’ I had quite literally never heard anything like it (I lived in the south my whole life, it was country and folk 24/7) and I remember my brother asking why I was starring into space with my jaw dropped
