Dude this shit brought back so many memories. The first day of commercial release back in 99' the untold secret supposedly was fishing was the fastest way to make money... So I spent 8 straight hours fishing, I had made like 15g and thought I was Elon Musk. Then my boy was like yo lets just take a boat ride and see the rest of the world, it will bring us back here in the end. So, I hoped on the boat with my friend in awe of how big the world was and as I was walking about the boat I "clicked" on the ship and somehow attacked a shark, which than proceeded to hand me my ass and kill me out in the middle of the ocean. 8 hours wasted, everything gone. I logged off the game, uninstalled it and seriously didn't come back for almost 8 months. But in end the end great game of its time, tons of great stories. Thanks for video, had me laughing my ass off.

This is the best! Anybody doing videos on EverQuest how to do it like this! this is great! give you a real taste of it I will recommend rabid bears in the qynos hills they're right there by the blackburrow entrance sort of a little bit more towards quynos. There's a person who takes those rabid bear pelts and gives you ridiculous experience for them. She's by the UFO looking thing. Best of luck and this is an awesome video

Great video, lot of laughs :) the community in EQ is really what it's all about. I've not checked out Quarm but spent a few years on P99. Gotta say it looks nice having more active low level player base. Meta on blue server is waaay top heavy in a big way.

I get why EQ content creators go Barb Sham. Liked in most areas so easy access to most cities. Easier to travel around with great utility spells (invis, sow) easy to group, capable of soloing, and needed high end/raids… an overall A+ class

Been playing a dark elf necro since launch and Nektulos Forest is also a terrible starting zone so I just went to East Freeport to grind there instead. I'm almost level 21 but I do have a few alts. I always love these kinds of story videos!

So, little background on the al'kabor project and quarm servers is that the server uses a short-lived apple pc (macintosh) build that existed during the pok and pop era (late 2000-2002?) Its a perfect snapshot of that era and honestly the closest youll get to classic eq. Right down to tbe crap camera eq suffered from :P

There was a big lack of level 1 mobs in the newbie area and we were all fighting to get them. Level 2 mobs would tear you apart if you were soloing so getting past level 1 could be difficult if there was any competition.

Wish there was at least one server in the universe with equal footing with no software available to cheat with. Seeing when the names will spawn, where they will spawn, their loot table, being able to warp to them, or pull them to you with no adds, is just game breaking. Firiona Vie is infested with mostly software users who sell power leveling and task adds. I am starting to wonder if part of JChan's executive pay package is the freedom to RMT with Hannita who sells power leveling on every server... :) Fun video to watch btw. Thanks for posting!

Nah, she was probably using an old trick to locate mobs. It’s been patched over forever ago on live, but maybe still lives on these emulated servers. Basically you use the /point emote. If you just type /point, the game will make your character point in whatever direction you are already facing. However, if you add a target to the command, for example /point orc_trainer the game will turn your character around until you are facing the orc trainer and then do a pointing emote. This is only supposed to work when the critter is close by, but it originally would point even if the thing was half a zone away. It was like Tracking but better. Another benefit besides pointing you towards mobs, just by virtue of pointing you would know the creature you are looking for is actually up in the zone. Had you typed the command and the name you added was not up, the command would spit out an error, thus notifying you the thing was not in the zone anywhere. Of course this was exploited by us all back in the day, and it was patched years ago around Luclin era if memory serves. Now /point only works if the thing is really close and I believe they also added line of sight check.
