Visions of Decay double your corrosion damage, with Mercy Kill mode you reset it once per kill while active which allows you to spam it and get reactive armor from Play it Safe Adam's perk negating the damage of 4 impacts so each enemy = 1 reset = 4 negated shots from enemies. So double corrosion damage, infinite resets and not taking damage for each activation makes Visions of Decay the best legendary equipment in the game in my opinion.

Small correction. VoD does not double your corrosion damage, but rather add +100% to your buff from Utility stat. So for example if you have +200% dmg from utility then corrosion will have 200+100 = +300%, not 200*2 = 400%.

That's true. I'm using the exact build. My Vindictor become super tanky. With this VOD, I can stay in the swarm of enemies, repairing drones, find a squishy target, use the VOD and repeat. To kill the VOD'ed enemies, I'm using Flak, might be there is a better weapon for the close engagement ?

Sh 8495 is actually really strong on gunship and interceptor, in ideal conditions it absorbs 60% of damage, and with perk +100% ult recharge without shield it makes a lot of sense. Strongest armor is opulence one on my gunship its 112.2k hp.

With the new legendaries, some of the old stuff got really good. Using Eye of the storm on a bomber with one normal and one radiant Ritual at the moment. Pop ARC, fire both Rituals = 30 very angry missiles with guaranteed crit. I also use the 2 pcs Tides set to immediately refill my ulti and pop it again. Seconds set is Opulence which atm boosts my dmg output by another 12%. Oh and peripheral catalyst on Final Reconing. Alternatively, for high lunacy rifts you can use wrath of the fallen with the commander set, you will create a lot of drones and with 3 pcs Commander you will restore your shields to full every time a drone expires after 10s or gets destroyed. Lot's of synergetic effects now in the game and i love it.

SH-8495 shield can synergize well with a bomber or maybe even a gunship, I only tried the former. Build stats around your hull and expertise. It pretty much turns you into a "tank" that can just shrug hits. I consider that build on par with the drone ship using the same set of items for clearing ancient rifts with zero chances of losing. Downside to it is the occasional components getting damaged, so your consumables will be for component repair even if you don't need hull repair besides the heal device.

But as a bomber without any firepower/crit, my priority targets are medium to big ships using debuff missiles and rockets and then occasionally clearing the cluster of smaller ships with the ult and mines. That means there's more smaller ships and drones getting ignored than usual.

Devotion works on the scout as a secondary weapon to the sniper rifle as you do similar damage and the ult is rather useless anyway.

Devotion was meant for Gunship. On Gunship you have 3 guns, and you can devote (can you see it now?) your 3rd slot to this gun and from this moment you can use your Gunship ult MANUALLY AT ANY GIVEN TIME. That's super OP. Especially considering that it is much stronger than ult. Basically you can take control over Gunship's ult. That's what it is all about.

That is for sure an interesting thought...I personally would never trade my super powerful Coil-Gun turret with auto-aim that decimates whole groups of enemies in Rifts or HRA in seconds for that gun. But for sure I will play around more with Devotion, there have been some interesting suggestions in the comments do far - including yours. Thank you for sharing!

I love Vision of Decay. Paired it with Thundercore on my Vindicator and and just cleared few superior tier high-risk areas on the Nightmare difficulty without firing a single primary or secondary shot :D

I had Thermo, Gauss and Destabilizer missiles with chance to free shot on crit. My perks: Defensive massacre, Play it safe (thanks to @Tiago Sousa comment under this video), Relentless, Critical faculty, Exploitation, Ride the lightning. Just avoid 'no EMP' modifier.

I like Devotion, on lower Lunacy levels it one shots most things and that + orbs means your Ult is aways topped off even when using it.

I’ve done a Gunship build using the Omni Manus and the SH-8495 and it works very well as an evasive tank, so much so that I often win 1000 lunacy Rifts with little to no issue

same, doing ancient rift SH 8495, just teleport into enemies to avoid up to 60% damage & same amount of sniper drone oneshots. Play it safe perks and you take basically 0 damage. S to A tier to me

Yup. Cassiel's Protection was a gamechanger for my Gunship. I normally use the Vindicator's Drones as decoys, (and with the explosive passive, "with explosive results".) But the Shield's decoys manages to do that job as well. ...And yet, it doesn't work for my other ships however. Honestly, I can picture the SH-8495 working well with Strikers, considering that they were made with CQC in mind. Visions of Decay is one of my favorite Legendaries, as Corrosion Injector's one of my go-to Devices. Mainly against those twitchy MFers ( any enemy that turns so constantly, it's as if a squirrel was high on coffee)

In fact the shield SH-8495 is extremely use full if you combine it with the legendary armor Pango's Pride, perks Overkill and Ulterior Motive on a Scout ship. The combination will make your Scout constantly turn on its Ultimate. Explain: SH-8495 + Ulterior Motive = double ultimate energy recharging speed. It will take only a few kills to be able to use your Ultimate. After using Ultimate, Overkill will make your ship extremely again the high shield/armor target in next 15s after that 15s, your Ultimate energy is almost ready for next round.

SH Shield can synergize with the lvl 20 perk Ulterior Motive, which will always give you that 200% ult recharge. Devotion on the other hand goes along with Eye of the Storm for you know what reason.

Yeah, I can see the synergies for the faster ultimate buildup, but I wouldn´t want to enter the life-lottery for just that. SH shield feels to unreliable and to situational (range restriction) for me. I sure will give Devotion a few more tries - thanks for the input.

Very nice Video! ty for all the good Everspace content. But i think you missjudged eye of the storm extremely. 100% crit chance half of the time in combination with all crit perks (especially lvl 30) means a HUGE dmg boost. With a bomber and mines that produces rift clear times nearly as fast as an interceptor with perma ULT ... Final reckoning is nice for cruise missiles but way harder to play in high rifts.

I use the SH shield with my interceptor to permanently stay in Ult mode. Can do crazy amount of damage with it in lunacy 500+ Rifts. Defenitely S Tier.

@@Kraykz you combine it with the perk that increases Ult reg by 100% when your shield is not up and have an interceptor with Ult refund passive. So you have maybe 3-5 seconds ult downtime, combine that with the perk, which lets enemies explode on crit and you have a killing machine. The playstyle is ultra aggressive tho

With the shield that has no shield capacity, would the player level 15 perk "excessive force" & "Ride The Lightning" be active always as a buff since that shield is technically always at max capacity? 😅 & then on Gunship for the high armour, would "Ulterior Motive" perk work well with 100% increased ULT generation with the Devotion weapon? I'm not a fan of cannibalising my coil gun turret, but often I forget to activate it in the heat of the moment or try to save it thinking I'll need it later more urgently.

The shield related perks should not work that way 😀 - but you can use the perk that enhances ultimate energy generation when your shield is down. Devotion with this perk is worth a try. In rifts I pop the turret on cooldown though.

I use bob the whole time on max difficould rifs (+ 1000) because you can t withstand more than 1 or 2 hits. an the necros have only a chance to spawn ( find it useles in combat, often one spawned after i killed the group of enemys to far away from other enemys), and the decoy shield is useles, you want to have shield the whole time (because than kenetic damage have no effect on you) and you have orbs that give shieldpower back... so the effect is to fast gone.

All legendary weapons should not be higher than B tiers imo. As you can get much higher damage weapons later. Some will reach like 4-6k both kinetic and energy damage like the gauss. Beam laser is overall the highest damage weapons in this game regardless the DPS is lower than the others. A 3k damage beam laser is dealing 3k damage every tick with like 6-8times in every seconds. And it has some kind of mechanic to stick to the target easier too. You will kill much faster than a same dps projectile weapos. Try it. So it comes down to either boost your damage output like VOD, Omni Manus and Thundercore in close combat within 680m or the survivability like Cassiel Protection, SH8495 for guships or even the clock armor. These legendaries should always be S tier no matter what type of ship you are using(Except SH8495 is only for high armor build like gunship). I know many people like VOD as they teleport in a group of enemies EMS and corrosion inject aoe everything. It is not the playstyle I like though. EMS range is short and relatively long CD. The VOD aoe is not really that effective as you see either. 300m is too short and you will realize 70% of aoe damage will not even reach any enemies. When you corrosion injected an enemy, you have to focus and kill it asap to benefit the CD refresh. Eventually I find out it is killed by 80-90% of my weapon damage. The double damage is nice though. Omni Manus win in this situation. You use it and leave it. Much higher damage, little bit longer range, more survivability as it shoot missiles and effective to kill(orbs auto recover more frequently) I reach lvl30 yesterday and it didnt take me more than 20times to reach 1000 difficulty with my gunship. I am not the one able to finish a rift in 5mins but I can do it like around 12mins. Flak when 2000m and switch to my 3k+ damage beam laser when 1400m. Corrosion injector everything within 680m(without VOD, I used Cassiel Protection for more survivability) Omni Manus when a lot enemies surrounding me. Teleport twice away and do it again. I use the armor repair device and +50% armor perk when using ULT. 10% chance to recharge 20% device CD perk will lower your devices much faster as you will get hit a lot.

I have a similar Gunship setup for my 500+ lunacy Rift runs. Cassiel´s Protection and Omni Manus are my combo too. I do use EMP though, with the right mastery perk the cd is really short in a Rift or HRA. I agree your Beam-laser take, as I pointed out in my weapon guide. More to come for sure...they were under quite a lot of pressure to release a complete game on the 6th and stated to have cut down on some things like more transmog options, cockpit customization and simply more special items. The free summer content update should expand the list 😉 - and I think the uniqueness of the legendaries makes a bit up for the fact that there are not more.

Devotion is a great weapon if you don't use your ULT. As I use them for my Scout build along with Pango's Pride. Definitely not a D tier weapon. You need also look at all the builds and aspects of the items. If Final Reckoning is a B tier weapon then also it's Devotion. And I do 500 - 700 Rifts with the Scout build. SH8495 is a good Gunship legendary and Vision of Decay is a 100% S tier legedary. Just saying...

As I said, I´m interested to see how others make use of these items and build some awesome loadouts around them. I will give Devotion a few more tries, so far nothing really worked out for me. SH8495 is to unreliable imo and Visions of Decay is super strong but also tied to one usecase. So I agree that it is S-Tier for it´s specific niche, but still very niche while other items are much more versatile. An overall S-Tier item would need to be powerful and versatile, at least that was a measurement for this tier-list.

@@wholesomegamer Try VoD with a Stinger / Sentinel build with high Eff. stats ~4000+ and your enemys will melt. SH8495 is strong if you are surrounded by enemies (60% chance to ignor dmg. is pretty op if you kill them also fast) and the Exp. buff from the Gunship make it useful. 800m is great because most of the enemys will be near you. You will need specialized builds for 1000 Rifts and more important you need the Set items. With versatile builds you will never finish an Rift this high. I do 1000 Rifts with my Sentinel- Union Set weapons - VoD - OM and Blood- Set items. Ofc you need to watch at your passivs to.

Two of these S tier items you can get by doing side quests 1/2 through the campaign. I managed to get the Beam Lazer, Flak Canon, and Castiel Shield, before the campaign ended on my first playthrough. They honestly made the final boss fights a little too easy haha

@@NightBlaze_Sr Thanks man! I personally find this item to be to wonky to execute reliable...first you need all those enemies within that specific range, second it is a total gamble - like no damage at all or full damage, no gradual dmg reduction. That´s why I did not rank it higher.

Not entirely agree with the tier list. I would put all legendary weapons on or below B tier simply because of how bad they are when compared to starforge rapid/powerful weapons with damage bonus catalyst, which IMO are the real end-game weapons in the current patch (hopefully they fix this). The Pigeon's Stare in particular is pretty bad. Its 30% damage bonus will be lost as soon as you miss the shot slightly, or switch target, which is practically all the time in a dogfight. When against capital ships, its low base damage drags it down. There are simply much better weapons dealing much high DPS than the Pigeon's Stare even with that 30% damage bonus

The attack power of Pigeon"s Stare is overall 30% weaker than a Level 30 StarForge Power full laser. I only provide the benefit of saving weapon energy when fighting the small mop, useless with some ship class and the bosses

Mines are great for taking out flag ships. They just melt them. I use them in high risk boss fights a lot. That and the rockets.

you don't see why and when one would give up using the ULT ? well the staring class of ships (the Sentinel) has that OP Lightning gun effect from Everspace 1 but all those sparks make it pretty hard to see anything, and while I haven't tested any other ULT's yet there are a few which don't sound that useful

Well, the ultimates are all very strong and useful with very few exceptions from my experience. And to succeed in high lunacy rifts you usually trigger them on cooldown - they usually kick ass 😉

SH-8495 maybe just MAYYBEEE useful when you play as scout ship ? ı mean at the end game you mostly have %35 shield at max which means any ship can break through with 1 or 2 shot either way sooo.... other than 1 or 2 shot having a %10-60 chance to block damage might be very useful for scout class ships. Actuallyy ı would think that game devolopers only designed that shield for low shield percentage ships :D

Scouts are not meant to play within 800m range so this shield is useless for them. It’s for players who fly close combat tactics and are constantly under fire so their shields would be down anyway.

No, but they drop occasionally on Nightmare-Difficulty and Lunacy 500 Rifts are not that harsh, once you get the hang of it and find a good setup.

It is an ok starting point I think, especially in the light of a very shallow endgame atm. You hardly have an incentive to really tinker around with builds and put all those sweet legendary items to use. Hopefully the free content DLC this summer will fix some of those issues.
