Ok, after spending way too damn long, I finally figured it out and thought I would share. So to get the energy sphere dispenser, you have to go the power core dispenser. If you grab the power core, it gets immediately destroyed. To prevent this from happening, you have to look for some debris. Grab the debris, block the laser, which allows you to get the power core and socket it. This will open up the energy core dispenser. Not sure if they changed it or what, but this video is outdated. The power core dispenser does show up on the map, but it's not really obvious what to do, especially after watching this video.

Thanks! For other people like me who threw away debris first and cannot find it after that - you can block laser with your own ship. It will damage you, of course, but you'll have just enough time to get the power core from dispenser.

I am omega late to this, but if you create a power core and immediately grab it, you can place it in the socket even if it got destroyed

Finding the second sphere is where i got stuck because why make you leave the gen area just for that. This game i shit.

This is an absolutely terrible puzzle mission! It literally stops all progress if you cannot get through this segment. What jack-in-the-hole programmer thought this is really awesome!!!! Puzzles like this should be side quest only because if you cannot navigate and control the drone, you will never progress past this mission. I really wish the gamers could somehow get a message to the game developers to release a patch making this an optional mission or at the very least, let the gamer fail on the puzzle but allow the gamer to continue to progress through the game. Oh well, another game that will never get completed.

Hey there, thanks a lot, I really was stuck here. In my game though, launching the unstable powercore through the windpipe did take out both the casing on the second opening AND the shieldgenerator :D Taking the second powercore was then easy.

Quick way around is to set the game to Very Easy for this and laser dissapears....

i hate all the missions where there is only one way to do the mission and you can not progress with out doing it. There should be more than one way to do the mission or you should be allowed to skip it. The control on the droid is extremly difficult even on very easy setting. The mission with gas mask was also very frustrating. I cheated by holding a drone and ramming gas mask. that was on very easy but that allowed me to advace. I would avoid this but it is the only way to enter drake.

the most annoying game mechanic i have ever dealt with. The drone should lock in place when doing this. with the drone moving backwards and forwards and rotating. Must have destroyed 30 drones in the last slot

I've found watching your video that this segment has changed since yours was released as now there's a laser beam protecting the dispenser which when select F to eject the sphere it now indicates it's unstable. I'm still trying to figure this out as I when I get the point to release the orb nothing happens.

Headbutt the power generaor the drone explodes and takes out the barrier. then you can pull the cores straight out without dealing with the laser

I bought ES2 but almost never play it because of the complexity of the puzzles and the enemies that are very hard to eliminate. ES1 is easier, even in hard mode for me.

I'm with @greggg57. Stopped playing the game right there. The game developer clearly thinks this type of puzzle is "fun." It's segments like this that kill an otherwise decent game. At the very least, there should be an option to bypass this segment and continue playing the game but it appears not to be the case. Oh well, on to the next game.

Tipp: if you are stuck weith that stupid drone puling, get a Bomber and fire the ARC9000 ULT into the direction of the force field generator. It will go thgrough the wall and blow everything up and you can just grasb the unstable core. Almost quit the game over this stupid mission.

I you like me and gone though around 50 power cores because the stupid drone will not control properly THE TRICK IS: CHANGE DIFFICULITY TO VERY EASY (one of the most frustrating missions Ive come across)
