Everstart Jumpstarter, Compressor, USB power, Lamp Review (good for emergencies) - Skywind007

This is a review of the Everstart Jump starter. I have read many comments that people are having trouble with this device. I will do an update if I find the problem and solution. It's a good idea to have this in your can if you are always getting stuck at the side of the road. Whether you have a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes, BMW, Alfa Romeo, Nissan, Altima, Toyota, Corolla, Honda, Kia, Hyundai, or other vehicle, I believe this device can be helpful in an emergency. It will also charge your phone and laptop, whether it's a Apple, Samsung, Nokia, Google, LG, Toshiba, Sony Xperia, Motorola, or Panasonic, the information in this video might be helpful.

First the Jump starter needs to be fully charged Second, IF your battery is very low you need to let the Jump Starter stay attached for about 3 to 5 minutes before trying to start the engine. also, you should attach the red clamp to the red terminal THEN attach the black clamp to some other metal under the hood such as a bolt head.

@@BDUFFY404 If you are talking about fully recharging the car battery I think you would need an inverter. You take the battery out of the car, attach the inverter to the post and plug the inverter in a wall outlet. Let it charge for about 24 hours. I have a friend who does this with his cars, trucks and farm equipment. He hasn't bought a new battery in years.

I just bought this and have never seen one where you have to connect the negative to metal on the frame. Ive only ever seen them hooked POS to POS and neg to neg. Is it not good to do this or does it really matter as long as it is grounded? I saw a video of this exact one and the guy hooked POS to POS and neg to neg like I'd always seen. Let it sit for a few minutes then it started right up.

As a woman I found it's good in case of emergency.I keep it at a full charge & It did work for my car immediately. Used it 3x. The light did work. The air inflator & the usb plug did work well. You did a good job on your video.👍

I have the same one but have yet to use it. I notice 2 funny lookin brass colored pieces in the hose itself, do you take them out before using it bcuz I've never seen the inside of a hose like this

Y'all have to charge the unit immediately after purchase, it even says so on the yellow tag. Charging for 40 hrs like it says in the manual ! charge after jumpstarting/air compressor usage & every 30 days regardless .Mine works every time I need it ☝️

I did charge the unit before the jump start. I edited that out of the video to keep this video as short as possible. My uncle bought an identical unit and his worked fine but many people on the reviews had the same problems as I did.

holy shit 40 hours. i thought it said 40 minutes. thanks for letting me know. i got mine on the charger now. i was just gonna try out the tire inflator but couldnt get the psi to work. so i read and learned i needed to charge it.

I have one of these battery went dead so I charged it up to 13.5v. now the thing keeps beeping (flashing fault and engine icon) and wont stop drives me nuts. I took the cover off unhooked the battery to make it stop. I hooked the battery up again quiet until I turned the switch on beeping started again and wont stop, so I re hooked battery and left the switch off. The next time I turn the switch I'm sure it will start beeping again. Also the compressor won't work now, doesn't recognize tire pressure and it won't start pumping. I don't see anything in the manual about beeping all the time, and not showing tire pressure. Any suggestions.

This model worked just fine for me. I connected each cable to the appropriate battery terminals directly just like regular jumper cables (not on any part of the car frame) highly recommend!

The reason for putting the negative clamp on a grounded part of the chassis is to avoid sparks that can lead to a possible explosion. This procedure has been recommended since jumper cables were invented. It’s even written on the box when you buy cables. But few pay attention. As for this charger, a lot of people have trouble with it. It runs out of juice very fast. The tire compressor works ok, but big deal. You can buy a plug-in type compressor for $10 that plugs in your cig lighter outlet. This one has to be charged up in advance and is so frigging LOUD, it would wake the dead. Product is garbage but Barnum was right. Thank you.

I tried it just like you did in the video same results. Then I saw another video that someone made a comment saying the manual says let it charge the battery for five min. Tried that and it worked right away. I don't see that step in the manual but again it does work (just jumped my car).

Thanks. What I saw in the manual is to use the chassis instead of the neg. terminal. That didn't help. I will try the 5 min trick next time. If it works, I will repost this review. I live in Texas and, nevertheless, with the blackout that we just had, I found this device very useful for keeping my phone and other devices charged.

Best way to fill a low tire with this unit is to jack up the vehicle, especially a heavy truck I found out, but it works, jump start works just fine.

No, I just happen to have slightly low pressure. They say it saves a lot of gas if you keep the pressure at normal level, which is from 30 to 33 psi, depending on your vehicle.

We recently had a power outage for 26 hours and this everstart kept our phones charged for the entire time. My phone was below 10% when I put it on charge the first time and it charged it to 100%. I used my phone a lot to watch videos and I was on social media. It charged my phone to 100% 3 times before the power came back on. I hadn’t charged the everstart in 3 years and it still had enough of a charge to get me through the power outage.

Are most cars negative grounded systems? The instructions said to put whichever clamp on the connection that is grounded 1st,which is also according to whether ur car has a negative or positive grounded system..

Yes, most cars are negative grounded, meaning the negative terminal is connected to the chassis (vehicle body). As a matter of fact, I have never in my life seen a vehicle that was positive grounded. my tire is completely flat! I plan to use my EverStart tomorrow for the first time to see if it will put air in my tire from flat. My dad recently passed away and this is something I inherited from his stuff so I'm praying it works for me.

I'm very sad to hear your dad passed away. I do want to mention that if a tire is completely flat to the point where there is a gap between the tire rubber and the metal rim, air can escape through that gap if you try to inflate the tire. You may need to jack up the car to the point where there is no gap between the rim and the tire rubber, then start inflating the tire.

It worked fine for me, but then I loaned it to a friend for a flat tire. No idea what he did with it, but now the display is stuck on (until battery runs down) with "6.9 v" displayed on it. Nothing on it works, not even the LED light. Can't find a copy of the manual online. HELP!!!

I think that maybe a higher amp fuse may help solve the power Everstart Jump Starter problem. It seems like the unit is providing enough amps to the booster cables to get the battery enough power. Likewise when the Everstart is inflating tires near the end the tire inflator sounds like it is running low on power. It is quite possible that the li-ion batteries in the unit are low quality thus do not provide adequate milliamperes for the job of boosting and tire inflating. I have a TackLife 500 jump starter and the TackLife can start a car in minus 20 degree Celsius weather without any problem whatsoever.

I tried it off camera in a real life situation and it did jump start the car, but just barely. I was not impressed. As far as the slow down on the compressor, I've seen that before on other brands and I think they do that on purpose so the compressor stops at the exact preset pressure, just like a gas station pump slows down when it's reaching the dollar amount you paid the attendant. I'm impressed with that TackLife. Minus 20ºC is quite something.

@@skywind007 I paid $60 Canadian for the TackLife jump starter (off Amazon) when jump starters first came out and really like the unit and that was 4 years ago. I use my old regular Slime digital tire inflator (which runs off the 12 volt cigarette lighter port) and that tire inflator seems to inflate air steadily right to the end. BTW ~ All of those jump starters coming out of China are actually produced at the same factory which is the reason why most of the jump starters look almost identical to one another. The company that wants their name on one of the jump starters puts in a specific order that outlines the quality of each of its parts and the Chinese manufacturer puts together the product according to the company's exact specifications. Once the product is finished the product is then shipped out to the company that placed the order. I believe that TackLife is a Taiwan based company and I have had very good past experiences with their torque wrenches as well. I would be even trust using my TackLife jump starter in -30 Celsius weather. Mind you, I only use my jump starter two or three times a year. Li-ion jump starters do at least keep 80% of their charge when left unattended. When I got my TackLife jump starter they even included a 12 volt port adapter that I could use to recharge the TackLife jump starter when I was on the road. $1 for air is just ridiculous considering that a few years ago air to inflate one's car tires was free.

We had a year 2000 Toyota Corolla and I often would see a Chevrolet Prizm that was identical, I mean TWIN identical, all around town. I paid extra for my Corolla when I could have gone with the Prizm and save some money.

Hey just checking this out was planning on buying it for mostly the compressor, my question to you is why aren’t your battery terminals connected to your battery. Just having the booster won’t turn or maintain power to run the vehicle it just sends jolt of power to get your battery juiced up?

I was trying to simulate a completely bricked battery. I had an opportunity to jump a small car that had a dead battery and I connected it for about 6 minutes. The car did start but it was a very small car. I don't know how it would behave with a large V8 engine.

Yes. It will take hours to recharge though. If you are in an unsafe place, it's best to call a tow truck or borrow jump cables.

I tried later on a different car and it did work. I think this SUV was just too big for this jumper. I made a video update. This jumper works fine on small 4 cylinder cars. The V8 engines require something else, like a tow truck.

Yes. You can use it right away. Modern batteries don't require you to fully charge before first use. Manufacturers only say that so you don't get a bad first impression that the battery life is short. After you use it, charge it until full so it will be ready in case of an emergency.

Sometimes it takes 5 to 10 minutes to jumpstart the car, especially if the car battery is dead. Also you need to charge the jumpstart pack for a few hours the first time that you use it

It works but you cant keep trying to start it when its reading under 12volts... I usually dont even attempt to start until its over 12.1 volts ... And when it doesnt work pos to pos neg to neg ...remove the neg and attach it to a metal screw under the hood and it will start. I dont know exactly why but it made a difference. It was trying to start a car 1 time for someone and it never started then i thought about that and on the first try with the neg on a screw it started literally in 1 crank.

I tried that on a different car. The instructions say use the chassis where there is no paint. Unfortunately, the chassis on my car is completely painted. I tried it again on a different car with a defective battery and I barely got it running after 10 minutes of charging. I believe this device works mainly on drained out batteries but not on defective batteries.

If your battery is completely depleted it won’t work. It jump started my car every time but my battery, I could get to 18v and at 18 it will turn over. However, I saw someone on the road who needed a jump. I helped them however this starter wouldn’t jump the battery in their suv. I couldn’t get it over 14v because their battery was in a much worse state than mine. I had to connect it directly to my car to jump their battery.

That's true. I have been testing various jump starters out there and they all have one issue or another. I wanted to make a video of an excellent jump starter I could recommend and for now this one does the most, but it is not excellent by any means.

@@skywind007 Just used the air the first time today and it worked better than I thought. My wife has a Silverado and she’s adamant about the tire pressure and I just connected it, set it for 35psi, and let it go. Worked great.

Just wondering if you pre-charged it before using it the 1st time? I just got one, and I’m wondering if that makes the difference in the jump start, it says although it shows full to still charge before initial use for 4-6 hours.

Yes. I read the instructions fully. I received this for free to make an honest review. I did pre-charge for a very long time. So far I like it as a compressor and perhaps for 4 cylinder vehicles jump starts. The vehicles I tested is V6 which I think is too large. I am still observing it and I will add updates.

@@skywind007 I pushed the button, it came on for a couple seconds (and did provide usb power for that second or 2) then stoped. Had a power outage so I pulled it out to charge a phone, so I could tell it was providing power for those 2 seconds. I tried turning the jumper knob on, then pressing the USB button, it worked and provided continuous USB power. Just an odd glitch I thought I'd share. Had to listen to that annoying beeping sound while it charged but it worked out

I noticed that the main cables are not connected to the battery terminal post. The car will NOT start! Main cables should also connected to the battery post with the jump start terminal then crank the key to start the car. I used mine a lot of times this bad boy did'nt dissapoint me even once.

It's 40 dollars retail value for all of that, you also have to let the battery charge before trying to start depending how dead the battery is. It's the same with using jumper cables. Other than that, it was a decent review though! 😁🤟

Guys these cheap jumper is kinda hard to Understand, now after many ways of trying to make it work i finally found the way it works.. once is connect to both terminals, if you don’t see a little triangle in the middle of the jaws and the beeping it wont work or it will the take long to start the car. If you plug the jaws and you dont see the little triangle appears just disconnect the jaws and try until the triangle appear you might try a few times.

Normally I do connect it to the battery. For my reviews, I often push the devices to their limits to see what they can do. I was hoping to jump start a completely dead battery, as it says it's a jumper rather than a booster. I tried it again off camera when I had a real emergency, and it took 10 minutes to jump start a Corolla (1.8 liter). Not fantastic but did the job.

I believe you should have left the battery terminals hooked up to the battery then hooked up the battery charger to the positive terminal on the battery, and the negative battery charger to a metal ground on the car's body. I feel like you lost some cranking power testing the air compressor first instead of starting the car. Charge the battery charger 46 hours prior to fully charge the unit. Good Video !

I took this approach because it's labeled as a car jump starter. Jump starters and boosters are different devices. In theory, a jump starter can work without the car's battery, while a booster simply gives the battery a charge.

The light on the POS also doesn't turn off. When you press the switch to turn it off, you have to keep pressing or wait a while, then press it & hope it goes off. What a piece of crap.

If you are still on time, take it back to the store. Mine works well, I tested it on a car off camera. It struggled to start the car but it did, just barely. I guess the car I showed in this video was too big. Also, I did a direct jump, where I bypassed the battery, while the instructions recommend having the battery installed.

Bought one the other day charged it for 8 hrs and tried for a half hr to jump the suburban going to let it charge full 24 hrs and attempt again ..hopefully it works didn't drive my second vehicle for 2 months and it's completely dead

In this video I wasn't able to jump the car, but off camera, I was able to jump two cars. One was a V6 Hyundai Santa Fe and the other was a 4 cylinder Toyota Corolla. It might have something to do with the faulty battery. I connected the Corolla for 10 minutes. I guess the issue is drained vs faulty battery. A car with a drained but working battery is more likely to be jumped than a car with a faulty battery that needs to be replaced. Also, the age of the vehicle seems to be an issue as I notice that older vehicles for some reason are harder to jump.

It was only connected to battery cables and not the battery. The battery cables are supposed to be connected to the battery then connect jumper cables to battery

I was trying to replicate a completely faulty battery. On my update video, I showed this on a battery with 10 volts, 8 volts, 5 volts, and 0 volts.

There is an LED light, and there are two USB ports. They both don't work? You have to push the button first to activate both the USB ports and the LED light. Each function has it's own button.

That means the battery is dead. The battery meter will likely have 4 bars indicating full charge. But that is misleading on this type of device. You will have to charge it for several hours. This is the same thing that happens with electric scooters. They are supposedly fully charged and you press the accelerator and they shut down.

I normally do it that way or use my regular 120V inflator. I have a 120V inflator at home. For the review, I often push the device to its limits just to see how far it can go.

The jumpstart test is a 4:49, which did not work. I did jump start another car on a separate occasion with this tool, I just was by myself so I couldn't shoot a video for it.

I did it without the battery to simulate a damaged battery. Several months later, I had a real life scenario with a dead battery on a Toyota Corolla. I connected it for about 8 minutes. Then I cranked it for about 5 seconds and the car started. I also tried it with a large diesel V8 vehicle but it did not work on the large vehicle. Only works on small and medium vehicles.

EverStart would be foolish to provide you another product for review when you didn’t follow the directions (charge fully before use) or factor in COST. For $40, this thing is a life saver.

I tried this repeatedly with other cars after my review. It works best with smaller engines but it cannot move a completely dead battery. Remember, it's supposed to be a "jumpstarter", not a booster. There is a difference between the two. Also, your car may be better grounded than mine. I tried grounding this jumpstarter and it wouldn't work at all. So, I put the clamps on the battery terminals and I was able to jumpstart small engines, but not larger ones.

The battery was fine, it was not dead. I didn't have a dead battery at the exact same time as I made this review. That would be grand coincidence. Sometimes I go years without a dead battery, and draining one could damage it. I would NEVER get this review done. But this does prove that this device jumpstarts a car with a malfunctioning battery, but not with a completely dead one. I will do an update when I have a dead battery.

I have one and it works just fine you have to put the cables on the correct units on the battery long as its charged up depending on how dead the battery it is it will jump start it I have done it several times with no problem

Mine is working but only on small 4 cylinder cars. The manual claims it can work on SUVs, but I can't get it to work on 6 cylinder vehicles with a complete damaged battery or stolen battery.

I've made an update to this review and I jump started a Toyota Corolla 2000 with this jump starter. I didn't connect the negative to the chassis (like the manual instructs) because all the chassis is painted on Toyotas. I only used the battery. It took 10 minutes but it worked.

I did it this way to simulate a completely destroyed battery. I did it the normal way on another car (Toyota corolla 2000), and it took about 5 minutes of charging to work, but it worked. I also tried the way the instructions say by connecting to the chassis, and it didn't work.

I did that and there was zero movement. I did a second attempt on a small Toyota Corolla and after 10 minutes connected, the engine did start. That happened after I posted my video. I have had no luck with larger engines.

Do not waste your money on these things. They do not last. Air compressor only worked ONCE. Inflating a tire from 22lbs yo 32lbs. Followed instructions but they are extremely cheaply made. Nothing but chinese junk, cheap and unreliable.

I have the 750A and it is a total piece of garbage.. do not buy this crap..air compressor stopped working after THREE uses and jump starter needs to be fully charged or it won't work.... do not waste your money.

@@treciroberts6665 the beeping was probably you connected the leads incorrectly. if you mistakenly put the red on the negative and black on the positive the machine alerts you with beeps and warning you not to start on you may damage the device. the way it always worked for me take the red lead place it on the positive post and the black on the negative post. then switch it on and start the engine. simple as that. the manual say place the red on positive post and black on a unpainted part of the car. yea if you doing that that never worked for me. directly connecting both leads to their posts work.

The main function of this jump starter is to jumpstart vehicles. The jumpstart our needs to be fully, and if the battery is totally dead you need to let the jump starter charge it up a little bit before attempting to jump. Mine works every time. I think this video is a total failure. No offense.

This is a piece of s.... I bought it at the super Walmart in Olathe Kansas. I paid full price. The first time I needed to charged my car it did not get it started I try many times no avail. I took this trash back to Walmart, I told costumer service the problem with this unit. I could not find my receipt I told them I did not wanted the money back I just wanted to upgrade and pay more for a stronger unit they said no. So here I am stuck with this shit that wont work. I count my lost. Don't buy this I am warning you .
