@ I didn’t think the Harry Potter one was good it was a filler build which wasn’t of great quality I dislike the build-mainly the parts used for the green part between the two posts I think different parts should’ve been used to make it actually look like something hung between two posts. The Darth Vader’s Castle is good even though it could include more pieces it does successfully and accurately represent the Castle and I can easily tell what is supposed to be.

@ I think it has to do with this year’s SW theming. Sometimes it’s difficult to create micro-builds. When there not many or too many details on a build it will effect the downscale. So while you can build awesome x- and y-wings and even star destroyers, builds like this castle or jabba’s palace e.g., the result will be a mess or less. And even if HP’s ornament somewhat flimsy, it’s still a nice Stan-alone piece. Remember or not, 2 years ago HP did a micro-build calendar and it was abysmal 😊

@@JayAlbion the designers deserve a lot of credit for the micro builds it must be extremely difficult to make a hugely scaled down version out of Lego bricks which you can still tell what it is and that is as accurate and detailed as possible. Sorry but I have not seen the Harry Potter calendar from a couple years ago.

The Harry Potter gift attaches to yesterday’s fireplace! The rounded 2x2 goes on top of the fireplace and the two separated garlands attach to the 1x1 round plates either side of the portrait!

In my own personal opinion, I would have given it to Star wars today. The only other micro build that wasn't a ship this year was the minikit from day 7, so I thought it was quite refreshing

There was also a Darth Vader’s Castle micro build in the 2020 advent if you look back into that playlist and also the X-Wing and Tie Fighter builds are supposed to be based on the original Lego sets of them since this year celebrates the 25th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars as you probably already knew.

The Harry Potter build had a lot of pieces and was festive, so I think the win was justified today. It is looking good for HP, because SW is probably not bringing any more minifigs to the table, and Marvel is going to waste another day on whatever goes on that trailer. Disney is going to provide another partial build, so all HP needs to do is not make the same mistake of going down the path of multi-day builds. The Green Goblin glider reminds me of the monstrosity we had with Guardians of the Galaxy a couple of years ago. We wasted about 3 days on that sucker too IIRC.

On a day like this I can't help thinking the gifts should be judged individually, not compared to each other. I e if all gifts are good they get high scores - or, today, no gift would earn more than three points. But then, that would be more fair than exciting 😊

Green Goblin and Hobgoblin are different characters. I think they might be building up a version the Cinderella Castle for the last few days in the Disney calender, too big for one day so they spread it out. I like the idea of something you build up over multiple days, but it's not conducive to a high score in the format of these videos.

We know you have an unfair bias towards Harry Potter, I'm usually sorted into Gryffindor anyway and twice into Slytherin. I miss when KZbin didn't used to be so corporate, they're trying too hard to be network television and completely misunderstanding how it works. This dying platform won't be around forever and it helps to have a job outside of KZbin. That tower is actually a section of Disney Castle as featured in Kingdom Hearts, it's where King Mickey and Queen Minnie rule over Disney Town as well as wherevthey keep the Cornerstone of Light which protects their entire world from darkness.

Wow, some real disappointment to start the final weekend before Christmas! Kids will have finished school for the year, today's their first day of the holidays, and this is what they get. Poor sods. Anyway... 6 points - City. Honestly, this would have come much lower on most other days, but this has the nicest elements of all the gifts, so it's kind of a hollow victory. 5 points - Star Wars. Even an iconic generic ship I think would have won today, sadly for me at least, Vader's Castle just isn't iconic enough. Not a bad build, but not exciting. 4 points - Friends. Not a bad fireplace, but not the best we've seen this year, either. 3 points - Harry Potter. I really wanted to like this. I really did. But it just ends up not looking like anything at all, certainly not like any Christmas decorations I've seen! 2 points - Marvel. At least we know this sled isn't getting any longer, just keeping our fingers crossed the presents to go on it we'll get tomorrow are half decent! 1 points - Disney. Not even the main bit of the castle to start off with! Such a shame, they were having a great year until now. Festive Bonus Point - Friends. Some competition out there today, but cookies by an open fire wins it for me. Scores - City 94, Star Wars 80, Harry Potter 78, Disney 77, Friends 71, Marvel 64. Bonus points aside, City are now guaranteed the win, despite last years calendar being better, I feel. Marvel almost certainly will finish last now, and that is much less of a surprise.

​@@JayAlbion the fireplace from friends and the toy soldier from city to start. Toy soldier is a unique build that hasn't been in any calendar. fireplace was more stable and doesn't easily fall over unlike the light poles
