Hard to believe that after the 2015 RWC the AB's didn't progress nor did they decline. They just became stagnant while the rest of the world caught up. Yet they still were dominant. Scary to think what can happen if they start ascending again.

Its life. They had the no 1 ranking for ten years Most teams are lucky to hold the no 1 ranking for a season.

Wow we lost one game at the 2019 RWC and won 3rd spot and we are still ranked 3rd and people think we're on the bottom of the heap think like that and you'll get reminded why the All Blacks are, If not the best team in the World, they definitely are still the Greatest team in history, their for & against record against all Nations is 2nd to no one. Ireland included. The rest of the World caught up??? when we lost 4 games to 3 countries last year and none have bragging right over us, we're ranked 3rd not last. out of 19 countries 12 have never beaten the All Blacks, that's never won a game since 1903 against the All Blacks. Yep we start ascending all over again being ranked 3rd.

Man. it really shows you can't just throw the ball around against stronger defensive opposition. Only one try in the two biggest games of the year (England and Ireland) and it was scored against England from a set play scrum. The fight back against SA in both games we had to grind it out with "pick and go" tactics and less of the flashy stuff. I don't think we did one "pick and go" in the whole match against Ireland. Ardie Savea was my AB player of the season, so his winning try in the second match against the Springboks is my pick. I've been critical of him in the past, but he has been immense for the AB's this year.

Apples and Oranges to be fair. Northern Hemisphere tour Hansen changed up tactics. We basically stopped running the ball. Over the 9 previous tests played in 2018 (I excluded Japan and Italy as they are considered Tier 2 teams), the All Blacks kicked the ball an average of 18 times a game and ran the ball a lot. And it worked well, scoring more tries than ever before in a season. Yet versus England we kicked it 37 times and 30 versus Ireland. Not to mention zero drop goals all season then two in two matches up North. That's a massive change in strategy. I'm not taking it away from England and Ireland - they played bloody well and Ireland deserved the win - but it isn't as clear cut as it seems.

Have you ever even watched American Football? He's so obviously running a line and the Aussie player was trying to run through him. If the Aussie player had been in the proper position to defend then there'd be no issue. In American Football Smith would've turned around and 'punched' the defender away from the ball-carrier, not merely continue running in support.

watching this and you realise how big of a F up the coaches made swapping out established players out during the World Cup. the changes would have been fine in a post World Cup year while building for the next cup, not putting inexperienced players in and the results prove me right. also Laumape is criminally underused by the All Black coaches, he's a world class 12 but they give him the Hosea Gear treatment.
