Annapurna is like the Studio A24 of videogames. That may have a few misses but most of their projects are like nothing else and are extremely well made despite not having the biggest budgets in their respective industries

Outer wilds and Edith Fich are two of my favourite games of recent times. Both will certainly stick in my memory for years to come. However the delivery of narrative in Edith Finch was astounding. In a game were all segments were special, the fish factory really stood out. An amazing piece of story telling .

I don’t think the narrator even played it! First off, it’s not a whole galaxy, but a single solar system, directly negating the NMS comparison (with Outer Wilds being WAY more on the “puddle wide but ocean deep” side of the spectrum…and NMS being the complete opposite). Second - and more damning - the mention of “saving humanity”. If you played Outer Wilds for FIVE SECONDS you’d know you are not human. Play for a little while longer and it is confirmed. By the end (or anywhere in between) it’s obvious. Anyway, at least WE know what’s going on, with Outer Wilds arguably being my favorite game of all time. This coming from someone old enough to remember when EA was basically Annapurna! ;)

Man, did you really played Edith Finch? Yeah, Outter Wilds its really magical, an improved version of No Mans Sky in fact. But Eadith Finch DO really challenges you, makes you question yourself about how far a videogame could get. Leaves aside orthodox mechanics and make you feel like a part of an smart and really intriguing story, something like Ico nd Shadow Colossus did before but way more inmersive and "human"

The type of games Annapurna makes are always a great reminder that games are one of the best storytelling/artistic mediums, and that you don’t need a massive budget to create something beautiful.

Outer Wilds at 7 is just insane. Best game I've ever played by far and objectively the most unique game design of any game out there. The devs built a fully simulated physics based solar system for gods sake. For a game with no combat or linear story structure to be that engaging is unheard of in modern gaming. I won't even talk about the story or it'll take all day.

What remains of edith finch is not just a game, It was a life experience for me.....Thanks to #annapurnainteractive (For publishing this game) and #VeryAli ( For making this video).... literally I cried for the first time by playing a video game ... It's not just a masterpiece,it is more than that....I don't know why but there will be no game in future better than this...🥺🥺

Buying a Switch Lite has made me realize my gaming palette was shit and finding these hidden gems from indie studios has been a great experience. Thanks for this in depth and comprehensive video on Anna. Seeing _Solar Ash_ in the eShop made me click on their publisher page and I just *had* to learn about all these games. I've got most of these games in my Steam Library but my absolute favourite one isn't on this list, which makes me wonder, will you be making this into a yearly thing and update it when new games come out by them? since this was published, Annapurna has produced 5 more games, The Artful Escape, I Am Dead, Last Stop, Maquette, and The Pathless. As for my favourite Annapurna game, it's The Artful Escape, followed VERY closely by What Remains Of Edith Finch?

I think maybe I was too late to 'What Remains of Edith Finch' because I played it this January for the first time and I didn't love it all that much. it wasn't bad by measure, I enjoyed it for sure but No.1?? not even close for me. 'Outer Wilds' is the clear winner for me and What remains is somewhere in the middle.

THAT SAID Annapurna has published some of my favorite games ever. Florence, Kentucky Route Zero, Gorogoa, Sayonara Wild Hearts. All amazing, and I'm in the process of playing through as much of their catalog as I can.

@@Racmaster00 Well, I'm not. Edith Flinch was a touching story, but it wasn't a very interesting to go throughout and it was a short walking simulator basically. Telling Lies had more content and engaged me more. Better bang for the buck imo.

I've honestly never disagreed more with a "top 10" obviously this isn't a top 10 but you know what I mean. Almost all Anapurnas games are top tier shit. I personally did not like Donut County or Gone Home (gone home is one of the biggest let downs ive had in gaming, it's so nothing and I was hyped for it, I bought a physical copy!) and haven't played Ashen or Sayonara Wild Hearts, so I don't disagree with the opinions stated in the video. Just the rankings. Super weird to me although I get that opinions are subjective but I just cannot fathom someone thinking Gone Home is better than literally anything on this list. Outer Wilds being 6 is criminal. Edith Finch is the only thing on this list that comes close personally and even then its not even close. Solid video though, loved hearing your thoughts and am very keen to play Ashen, which of all games was the lowest ranked in your list but because of what you said I am very keen on trying it out!
