From 9:53 on I am just FLOORED!! I love the sound the AXE F/X II! And the fact that it will possibly never be obsolete is what sells me on it. If the good lord says the same, I will have mine before 2014 is over. Very good demo if not the best I've seen. Thanks for posting!

I really like how the presets are USEFUL...and not some over-the-top garbage thrown together to impress the user with how fantastic the effects are! Most units, you have to dial back 99% of what is in the presets because they may be showy, but mostly useless. Fractal did a great job of coming up with patches you can actually play with, right out of the box! I'm looking forward to getting mine tomorrow!

This is my Axe-Fx straight into my audio interface. I have played it through studio monitors, floor monitors, headphones, and guitar amps, and it sounds incredible through all of them. The Axe sounds this good without spending a dime more, but you'd be well served by getting a good powered FRFR monitor.

An impressive grasp of such a diverse range of styles for such a young person. I am 60 yrs old and love all the " redos " of the tones matched-up to the old songs 50's,60's,70's,80's, and newer. How do we get to hear you playing your own original music??? Thanks for the memories ( Now… how about creating some new ones!! there is great potential here!!!

@bufon63 I didn't have an Ultra before, but by all accounts of people who did, the differences in SOUND are nuanced differences that are certainly an improvement but are not immediately noticeable. @11slash711 its not heavy at all. this is just a preamp, so you need a preamp, preferably solid state to take advantage of the Axe power amp simulations, to power a 4x12. plenty of people do that.

Did the patches change much from Firmware v2 to v6? I just got mine in the mail, and I'm playing on a JPXI. I ran the this video through my monitors, same as the axe fx II, but the patches sound different. Your high gain stuff sounds crunchier to me. Did you use any EQ in Pro Tools or anything? Did you plug in and record from XLR or 1/4" outs?

I find that most every bit of gear, especially stuff designed for DI, has a very definite sound that's difficult to get beyond (e.g. Amplitube). The Axe-FX doesn't, as far as I can tell. It just sounds nice, and real.

The average Marshall JCM800 half stack is around $3100. You're getting a module that almost perfectly simulates hundreds of amps some of which cost exponentially more than the JCM. I think it would be worth 10 fold its retail price.

I have a Zoom G5 right now and I'm looking into this just for at home playing because I live in an apt and its hard to get good sounds with most multi fx. Because the optional foot switch/pedal is so expensive, is there any other way you can switch between effects on here (example in a song) or for stuff like wah etc?
