Hello Ivor, John Lee here from Kilmore, Victoria Australia.Thank you so much for this tutorial. I used to play a version of this, but it didn't sound to great. I have just about mastered your version and am very happy with it. We used to have a TV show on channel 9 over here called Hey Hey it's Saturday. They had a section called Red Faces where people would come on and perform an act. I came up with the Every Breath you take song, with my own lyrics. We had a super rich chap here, who swindled billions of dollars then buggered off to Spain, his name was Christopher Skase. The Aussie Government caught up with him and tried to extradite him back to Aus. Christopher however had this covered, he actually appeared on Spanish TV showing the Public a fresh operation scar on his chest, saying he had lung cancer removed. And was therefore unable to fly. My song was called the Chase for Skase, I wore a upper body suit, made of thick foam, my daughter airbrushed a chest and muscles on that, and we cut a big slit down the center of the chest, this was held closed with black liquorice straps, looking like stitches. Under this I had a piece of oxygen tubing, that plugged into a Y junction, and on this was attached two deflated balloons. The other end of this plugged onto a fire extinguisher that we filled with compressed air. My mum was going on the show with me as my nurse, she was in her late 70's and avery funny old North of England lady. Skases wife was called Pixie, and so my mum was her. My lyrics were, Every breath I take, Every move i Make, every time I sneeze, every cough every wheeze, theyre watching me. Anyway we rehearsed this song with me in pyjamas, me old mum dressed as a nurse, and she held the fire extinguisher trigger. The idea was towards the end, as I finished a line my mum was to press three quick presses on the trigger, and this would start to fill the balloons under my chest suit, (I just get Iller and Iller in my Spanish Villa, you'll never get me) Psssst, pssst pssst pssst, (Im gonna overload, until my lungs explode) pssss, psss psss psss pss.. The end result was after the last line mum would hold the trigger on full, pppsssssssssssss boom. The liquorice stitches would burst, and red Glitter would erupt from my chest, sorry to bore you with this story, but anyway we had the rehearsals perfect, I sang the song, and the end my chest exploded, and what happened? In real life Christopher Skase went and died, all for nothing, but at least I can play the song Thank-you.

This looks a lot easier to play than the old tab version i tried playing years ago without a capo. I'll be sure to try and learn it. Thanks for the lesson. By the way what guitar are you playing it looks like a Taylor because of the bolt on neck but which model? Sounds good.
