Every Character Explained in 1 Minute | Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee was the first of the 2000s-era Godzilla trilogy, including Godzilla Save the Earth and Godzilla Unleashed. GDAMM introduced the core gameplay elements of the series: monsters fight in a 3D arena using physical moves, energy beams, and destructible environments. Each monster has their own unique moveset and skillset. This video gives a brief look at each of the monsters available on the American GameCube version of GDAMM, explaining strengths and weaknesses.
Take note that Kiryu/Mechagodzilla 3 is not covered in this video as he was unavailable on the American GameCube version of the game.

I got a complete copy of Gamecube. I'm letting my friend borrow it right now though since I have Save the Earth on PS2. And have a complete Godzilla Unleashed on Wii coming in the mail Tuesday. Damn they need to release Godzilla ps3/ps4 on digital or give us a new game.

I noticed with Mecha K.G. they also took away its ability to hit grounded opponents with their Away-A attack (The triple headed down slam thing). Meanwhile regular K.G can. Great video!

Oh man, this was nostalgic af. I remember wanting to play as mothra so badly and would always seek her help until i realize it attacks the player who does the most destruction to buildings iirc 😅 loved this game and of course, brawl too

G2K is faster than G90’s, but more vulnerable to edged attacks, as well as the weakened atomic breath. MKG has added beam damage, but also added blunt damage, with heightened edged resistance. And if you’re playing Orga, avoid Ghidorah as much as possible. Ghidorah is faster and resists blunt damage. Megalon on the other hand, gets squashed like a bug by Orga’s blunt attacks. It’s not so much unbalanced as it is engineered to force players to adopt unique strategies for each of their matchups with other characters depending on who they’re using, giving some characters huge, but not insurmountable, advantages against others.

I loved this game as a kid. Me and my brother use to play this all the time. One thing I hate about this is going up against destoryah. Man talk about having to battle him countless times before moving to the next stage. No wonder he kicked Godzilla and his son ass in Godzilla last movie before they did the movie with his adult son Jr. This game was ahead of it's time and if they were to do something like this with the new Godzilla and add Kong oh boy.

Yeah, big bummer but that’s how it sometimes went with these back in the day to help drive extra sales. Like Soul Calibur 2 having console exclusive guest characters so you had to buy every version to play all 3 of them

5:22 to be fair to Gigan, alot of these characters were really just wacky and silly in their movie counterparts so, the developers probably wanted to keep that integrity intact for the *fun sake*, kinda of the point of Pipworks studios trillogy. Also gotta cut them some slack too, this was their *first* console platform fighter game. Game balance and jank aside, it's a _timeless classic_ which I feel is missing IMO on modern fighting games, they just don't do this 3d environemnt combat stuff anymore. :/ Mega king Ghidorah being S tier? That I did not expect -- I actually though Destroyah was better cuz of the horn beams being able to punish mid screens (I play on Xbox classic), ranged attacks and sweep at low consistently plus that singular purple star attack from the movies that just pulls the player in, huh... Though on the topic of game balance, I guess if you were to do a tournament, gentlemen's courtey would be no MKG, no Destroyah or Orga?

The tiers are definitely all just personal opinion, room for error there, but the MKG missiles are so insanely busted and his damage resistance on top of that is wild. I do think this game is meant for fun, not bashing the devs on Gigan, just applying some more modern FGC lens here for fun 🤙🏼
