@@amojinprints7378 iirc, gnosis is just a symbol for godhood like venti said when recovering at the tree. Rex Lapis killed lots of powerful beings in the archon war, before attaining godhood. The same as venti, archons are only powerful when they govern their own land, in venti’s case, he wasn’t powerful because he wasn’t “governing” mondstadt. Edit: I think venti may still be powerful, since for him, all he wants for governing is just freedom

Without their gnoses, Venti and Zhongli can’t do batshit crazy stuff like shape continents anymore. But it’s as you said, both of them weren’t mortals to begin with and are incredibly powerful in their own right. It’s just that they can’t wield their god powers anymore.
