I think the fun way to integrate these trees into your industrial nature is to use them as filler for your "completed" city blocks, where they can fill in the corners and edges that are otherwise not doing anything. That way your trees get to participate in the griddification.

your usual city block designs are useful if trains have collision mechanics and dynamically calculate their route, but at the moment in this game they only have an assigned route and no collision

Trees can only grow on wet(green) areas and you can check tile temperature in left down corner(min. temperature is temperature in winter and max. temperature is temperature in summer)

Also, if "assembling" tree only needs Water and Carbon, just build carbon extractors near water pumps, directly by the assemblers, and forget about it ;)

the mod that you can use to limit the items you build is really helpful. and the mod that allows you to prioritize storage flow.

Brilliant gameplay, love it. I just noticed that you need more unloading platforms for water at the places where yu produce food. The food production consumes water too quickly so it is then not effective as they do not work all the time so maybe more unloading stations for water would definitely help.

It's amazing how effective your designs are! Was struggling to get 100k city with "main (train) bus" pattern, then decided to try this pattern on the second city - a total game changer. This pattern can actually support 300k city, maybe more - just haven't reached yet, and only slight tweaks are needed to keep up with city needs.

I'm liking the evolution of design between your twitch and YT series! great job.. trees need water and I think your reinforced concrete from recycled steel is supplying 100% of the city.. so you should swap the second output that goes to your hub, and/or rather have a dedicated reinforced concrete for the hub.

Hello. Thank you for the series. I have been enjoying this game for about 20 hours now. I suppose I have a completely different take on aesthetics and attempting to calculate efficiencies and what not. I just tend to build for convenience and respond reactively as the game progresses. I personally find the grid look to be a bit too mechanical for my senses. I suppose you could say I find beauty in the chaos? That said, I came here looking for ideas on how to develop further and you have certainly provided that, thank you again!

I've noticed that only 2 unload platforms are not enough, it'll slow the train down too much. It's better to have 4 dedicated unloading platforms in your blocks. But still love your playthrough and using some of your designs in mine.

Why not set up larger storage areas for specific materials with many train outputs? I feel like that could solve some of your issues.
@TminusDoom
@TminusDoom Жыл бұрын
You've said it a few times but haven't done it, you can just place a supply right where you are making things like reinforced concrete and high-tech parts etc. (Just make sure you don't exhaust that supply if you are also exporting it)
@rubhan94
@rubhan94 Жыл бұрын
Edit: reading other comments that say you use mods for some of these things than I guess my suggestion goes out the window 😂 6:03 when I see you trying to drag hightech parts to the bottom I don’t think hubs really are that great in this game. It’s messy but better to set up a small dedicated line just to create one building. I did that, took almost no time if you find some resources that are close. Now I have about +1k of each building 😅

09:59 That's what she said! ;) About the hub, I think that the components which need to be moved more than 3 places up or down should probably be moved by trucks. At least you can use one "backbone" road for all of them that way, rather than what amounts to dotted lines of depots all over the place. (Of course, the depot chains running west>east would require precise spacing to cross the road, effectively making them one link longer if you want to continue them past the road, so TANSTAAFL applies again.)

Couldn’t you set up factory’s that use up the waste resources and make it into the universe storage so you don’t have to physically store it

I reached 100k city before making water flow. Do I have to use both greenhouse gases, or better one is the only you need? Maybe it's too early, only year 55. P.S. Yep, it's optimal to boost both gases equally, thought, seems effects have diminishing return.
