A good and well known example of a 4WD mid cutter would be MOE the original inspiration for tombstone.

12:18 a 4 wheeled horizontal spinner would fit the descriptions of M.O.E.(From comedy central Battlebots, side note is this bot inspired Tombstone) and Sweet Revenge(from an unaired fight in 2015 battlebots where it lost to radioactive due to not working properly)

I think you have to clarify, a wedge is not an *active* weapon. But it is a weapon and due to how you can wedge under opponents and lift their wheels off the ground gaining full control probably the most effective weapon in all of robot combat. Wedges won multiple championships in all weight classes (Original Sin comes to mind, but also La Machine, Roadblock in the UK and that's just heavyweights), probably KOd more bots than any other type of weapon (by just flipping it upside down or on the side) and it's required for a lot of other weapons to actually become effective. Especially if the arena features a pit it's still one of the best weapons you can stick on a robot and that's why almost every robot with an actual weapon also has some kind of wedge, be it a full plate wedge or some forks for wedging under opponents. Also bots like Full Court are essentially just a very wide wedge. Very nice overview though!

I definitely think Wedges are competitive , even if I didn't convey that in the video. Maybe I should have defined an "active weapon"
@Crosshair843 күн бұрын
The layman's definition of "Weapon" is an Active Weapon. Wedge bots are about as entertaining and healthy to the sport as Botulism is to fine dining. Sure, fun to drive in, boring as heck to watch two wedges "fighting". Which is why organizations like NHRL require active weapons and many other events have sub-classes in the same weight bracket that also require an active weapon. Because nobody wants to watch a dozen wedges wedging. "bots like Full Court are essentially just a very wide wedge" Which is why they had to pass it off as a "lifter" bot with the non-functional lifters the first year at NHRL. Before finally equipping it with whole-body lifters to actually comply with the spirit of the rules. For Multi-Bots I don't have an issue with them as the second bot, as they're just a condiment to the main bot with the active weapon.

It would be helpful if you were slightly more careful with the way you use terminology here. Saying that a lifter 'isn't an active weapon' totally goes against what 'active weapon' actually means. You clearly intend for this video to be a resource for newer fans/builders, but you're reinforcing the common misconception that active = damaging.
