@MelodicTurtleMetal2 жыл бұрын
That's bullshit. An attack doesn't have to physical to be harmful. Will Smith obviously felt in some way hurt by a joke at a specific loved one - the slap caused no harm, nothing more than a shock - just like the joke. Equally abusive. A closed fist punch would be a very different story. Being a comedian doesn't allow you to be a bully. People claiming it was 100% unprovoked are dismissing emotional abuse. With all that being said, he definitely overreacted. But the joke was offensive to him, and at the expense of his wife. The slap was never supposed to, it going to, cause physical harm. Equal play

It had nothing to do with entitlement. Everything happened so quickly. Will actually was laughing in the beginning. Will Smith should have been charged with assault despite Chris Rock not filing the motion. The police and any court can clearly see that it was an assault and should be handled as such. That a victim decides not to press charges in some cases should not be relevant. Some victims are scared to file charges for various reasons. Chris Rock would know that if he had filed assault charges it could seriously damage or hinder his future success. I believe Will Smith was counting on this.

And it has backfired on Smith. He fucked himself
@Now_lets_get_this_straight2 жыл бұрын
You are correct that Smith committed a crime against the State of California, not Chris Rock. Usually they would not be successful without the victim pressing charges/testifying but in this case, it’s recorded and witnessed by millions. If Chris wants to forgive Smith, (the same as the Pope John Paul Ii forgiving the person who attempted his assassination, but was still prosecuted and sentenced) that’s admirable but Smith still committed a crime and should be prosecuted.

Chris should’ve replied, “You should keeps all those d!cks out of your wife’s mouth so you’d calm down a bit!” Walking on stage at the biggest award show in the world and assaulting someone on live TV and not even get thrown out let alone arrested is what actual privilege looks like. What a joke…then he gets a standing ovation ten minutes later🤔. It’s literally unbelievable

Chris distefano's point was the best. She could be lying all together and just says she has alopecia in case they don't like the haircut LOL
I have had lifelong alopecia areata, which means you havetypically circular patches big and small. And now at 24 I have alopecia totalis which means I no longer have any hair follicles whatsoever, which means no benefit of a buzzcut like Jada. I had no idea that Jada had alopecia. I shaved my head, as many do when they can no longer hide it, you can see the difference between areas of alopecia and hair. I have never seen any such patches or areas in Jada's hair, you can see her hairline and follicles all round her head, along with her own eyelashes and eyebrows. Also the joke wasn't harsh in the slightest, would she rather him say she should play rapunzel?

Rogan says we shouldn't put celebrities on such a high pedestal, because they won't understand that their actions incur consequences. Then in the same breath, he calls the incident "a learning moment for the world." And that's the very reason celebrities can never truly get it. When the average man's consequence for such action is a police beatdown and some jail time, followed by the loss of his job, while you get an academy award, and your mistake becomes a "learning moment for the whole world," you'll never be one of us. Everyone's reactions will always reinforce your understanding that you're something different.

@@jesse_cole You're saying that celebrities get diferent treatment from normal people, ok I get that. But people can learn from the situation because look at all the public backlash Smith is getting. That's what Rogan meant. The world found out that most people would disagree with Smith's actions, so they can apply that to their own lives, that's what he meant.

I have beat cancer, heart surgeries, 31 plus broken bones, stabbed, shot, broken back, more major surgeries than I can count, and more than I could say, But the one thing that has helped among other things has been humor, lots of humor, jokes about everything, comedy and comedians can take the power away from a disease by joking about it and they take hurt away by joking about it , jokes have away of allowing you to take back what is been taken from you when you can laugh about a terrible situation it gives you an inner strength something to build on. I support all comedians and their comedy, whether I laugh or not, Comedy is too important. And I will add , if my brother Lenny who suffered with stage 4 cancer for 12 yrs in experimental trials and chemotherapy over 30 times and dozens of surgeries and procedures , if he was still alive he would be writing the same thing I am . I miss you brother , but we had a lot of good laughs during those 12 years of hell thanks to comedy and comedians always pushing the boundaries. Rsp Lenny.
