So they're all okay with going room to room and killing everyone in there (so is Orpheus), but fire a death star on some frogs and everybody loses their minds.

Yeah I went “murderhobo” on everyone in there (they attacked me first though) and no one said anything about me killing everyone… 🤷‍♀️ But I didn’t destroy the creche, I used the unlock key thing so that it didn’t even go off, I was just able to take the mace with no consequences.

I'm pretty sure the crèche is bigger than the areas the game lets you explore, because there must be someplace the smaller children (and Youth Varrl) get evacuated to when things start turning sour. Also, probably a nursery with babies and toddlers, judging by the presence of the egg in the hatchery. So you basically kill a bunch of kids by blowing the whole place down, instead of just killing the guards, teachers and older teens to make your way out of there.

I like to imagine that the creche spans far deeper than we're aware. Much like Baldur's gate is even bigger than depicted in the game itself. Fighting your way out of the Creche is far more honorable as you're defending yourself from harm rather than just unleashing a weapon of destruction on the Githyanki raiders. Personally, I think there's a bit of irony that the Lathander monks get their justice in the end by collapsing the temple on the very creche that overran and murdered the people inside. But we do respect there are those who have no fault of their own here in the creche; their only crime having been born and raised in the conquered monastery.

considering the githyanki murdered the previous occupants (monks), i'd say they got off lightly

Excluding Lazel people are quite chill about it and i think it makes perfect sense considering that githyanki are a race of cruel raiders they must be hated across Faerun

Gale is awfully too cheery about it Weird, I remember Karlach saying something different here. Perhaps it's if you don't blow the place up.

I was playing a reformed durge, but with relapses (basically I was friendly/neutral to everyone and protected the weak, that sort of stuff..... until me or companions were threatened, then it was time to go remorseless murderhobo on the enemy.) These guys were rude and condescending to me at best, and tried to kill me, twice, at worst. Durge's one regret is that there wasn't any blood or viscera because everything was incinerated.

Until a few years ago in school when we were taught (and I delved into) "sword era" history, I always thought spiked armour were amazing. Now I don't play a game until I find "realistic" armour mods.

Most unfortunate thing that can happen in this scenario is not obliterating Astarion along with the Creche... Not because I hate him (quite the opposite) or that he deserves it, but because you're robbing yourself of one of the funniest scripted things in gaming since like ever lmao

you can destroy the Creche ??? i can't believe i missed that. Guess I know what i am doing for my jack of all trades run.

I believe it happens if you don't notice or disarm the trap on the Blood of Lathander mace under the creche. Also worth noting Astarion has a reaction if he gets killed by it and is revived. He's pretty mad about getting nuked by the sun.

The dialogue changes a little I found out in my githyanki run. It does for a lot of things and it’s really cool to see.

Everyone of my companions died at the lance, I ressurected them and they all commented this, even astarion (no funny lines about "full concentrated power of the sun"), I wonder why.
