I think it's a word in French (and yes, we have had "oui" before in a puzzle). But it's also an archaic and/or obscure English word.

Skittles guess for Doug! I immediately saw the homophones, so I solved in green, yellow, blue, purple order, with no mistakes.

I immediately suspected the days of the week was a red herring. Just had a feeling. Seemed way too easy.

I was one of the foolish ones falling for this RED HERRING! 😂 I am often the ONE AWAYS person getting close to solving Connections. Wordle is my best game.

i think everyone will fall for the day of the weeks abbreviation. And the Placed category is really bad when Placed is one of the words.

I noticed that too. Sloppy today by the NYT, wouldn't be surprised if they later re-name the category

As I read the words, I clicked on all the twos and thought, no too easy. I saw the days of the week amd wondered which was the red herring. So I went did a head solve before submitting. Whew. Avoided the trap.

I manage to solve all 4 in order today, a rarity for me. My sticky note paid off right away with a quick yellow solve.

@@Tsteinlauf I continue to have my good/ bad days in Connections and I enjoy playing Strands more so now than I did in the beginning. Wordle is my best game as I do the five and six letter words. Oranje is beyond amazing in these NYT games. I don't know how he does it! 😂

@hopechazz I do enjoy reading your posts!! I, too, remain in awe of Oranje28. The statement he once made of never losing a NYT game just blows my mind. Chris Remo, as you have mentioned, is another amazing player. I think that I am also most successful with Wordle, except that two days ago, I opened the wrong video by mistake and saw Saturday's answer before I could even try the puzzle. Now, THAT was a really ridiculous way for me to end a 66-day streak. 😄

@@Tsteinlauf Things happen. 😂 Also, I call Lisa, Ellen, and Dora the 3 Musketeers in Art's site. They do quite well in these games. I see another lady by the name of Andrea catching up with these individuals. UTU49, another outstanding player, is the guy following the ladies. ☺️

You don't need to keep apologizing about the messed up one. They gave you the wrong puzzle and didn't tell you they were changing it. That ain't your fault. Also anyone who watched the whole video and didn't click away immediately once they realized it was a different puzzle than the one they did deserved to have it spoiled.

I never watch his videos until I solve it myself. So as soon as I saw it was a different puzzle, I closed the video immediately. But to avoid it in the future all he has to do is check the daily puzzle on the web site before uploading the video.

@@DanPLC, same. I clicked away as soon as I saw wrong puzzle. As far as fixing it in the future...Doug's on the east coast, so can't check the puzzle till midnight. He has a real job so these are scheduled posts rather than a thing where he actovely hits "post" right at midnight and (until today) he was an under 5k sub channel. So, it's not like this is generating a lot of income. Really nyt shpuldn't be changing puzzles after they send the schedule to social media folk.

I could not quite get all the categories and could not guess the purple category. I am very familiar with sunflower, but not with the other type of flowers. The word SAT prevented me from getting all four categories as I was able to get the yellow/green categories. The ONE AWAY king was fine in Wordle/Strands.
