As a Packer fan I could watch this dude all day long. (Thank you SBXXXI) No matter what color Jersey. Total game changer whenever he played. One of the BEST special teams threats ever in my books. Beautiful tribute to a guy not mentioned much...hands down mvp of 31 ....go pack go

I got to watch him win the Heisman as a kid and then to watch him tear up the NFL like this after. Was even at the game for his first return TD as a Lion. On top of being a class act we the fans were truly blessed to witness his greatness. Thanks Desmond. I still see ya holdin it down on game day too. You have been and will always be a great representative of the state of MI

Today he'd be used properly. Small WR just didn't get a shot. Imagine him on Seattle, KC or Saints today

The league was full of little receivers back in the day. Fellow Redskin Gary Clark was tiny, Ricky Sanders wasn't very big, before that the Skins had a receiver group they called the Smurfs because they were so small The Dolphins Duper, Clayton and Nat Moore were all 5'9" . Clayton broke NFL records while being smaller then Howard. The difference, Clayton was tough as nails, Desmond was soft.

He didn’t have good hands and dropped a lot of balls in the nfl he was used properly sucked as a receiver

He was on the packers team that year in 1996 when they lost, brooks, freeman, churmura and still had to go get Andre rison because he wasn’t that good as a receiver

9:10 blunder on CBS’s part with that graphic. He just scored a punt return TD (not a kick return)… and if you want to say it was his first return TD in general (combining punts & kicks) it still wouldn’t be true because he had a punt return TD already since that SB.

Actually, when you punt the ball, you ARE kicking it. So, I guess you could still call it a kick return. If you want to get really technical about it, he should have said kickoff return. That way you couldn't confuse it with a punt return.

Thanks for making this video. Desmond Howard had an odd career. He was the #4 pick and was a bust as a WR but was a great returner and made that into having an 11 year career.

Surprised Peter Warrick didn't become at least an elite punt returner in the NFL. I have always been terrible at projecting college players to the NFL. My favorite college players always bombed 💥

He was my favorite player as a kid. Met him at the Lions training camp back when it was held in Saginaw. I remember him being a super nice and genuine dude with a smile on his face as he signed autographs. Not surprised at all that he's found success as an analyst.

will Washington drafted him and Washington was picking at 6th and traded up to 4th to draft Desmond Howard but he wasn't that good with Washington . not to sure how Washington got a 6th overall pick in 1992 draft and Washington won Superbowl in 1991 season .
