Something has always bothered me about the Monado Shield and Monado Speed cutscenes. Monado Shield affects the whole team in combat, but only activated on Reyn in the cutscene. Monado Speed can only be activated on one team member, but affects all three in the cutscene. I think it might be a thing left over from the designing phases, because granting physical immunity to the whole team is a lot more powerful then granting a one time shield against certain moves. Idk, anyone else notice that?
@prince.fatalis4 жыл бұрын
Well, yeah. Balancing wise, the game would've been broken that early if you could cast high physical evasion on all your party and it lasts several seconds. Speed lasts for a duration whereas shield lasts for a duration but is gone once it absorbs a talent art. Lore wise, he could protect everyone easily but gameplay wise, they have to nerf it.
@guimon784 жыл бұрын
@@prince.fatalis that's what I was saying, it just seemed strange is all.
@MultiOwyn3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Monado Speed should be able to heighten the party's evasion and attack rate, and grant them chances of double attack. Monado Shield should block not just Enemy Talent Arts, but also Enemy Ether & Physical Battle Arts while lasting up to 16 hits. Also, Imagine Monado Smash as a Physical Monado Art inflicting Break, Topple, and Daze all at once without the need of a Chain Attack. And imagine Monado Jump increasing the party's jump height and reducing fall speed and fall damage.
@bobthebuilder6093 жыл бұрын
Speed is arguably one of the worst monado arts in the first place. it lasts for like, 7 seconds, ONLY affects 1 party member, and takes a shit ton of your gauge. The ONLY use for it is if you get a vision where there's a physical attack on dunban(your agility tank), and for some reason, warning him to use his serene heart somehow DOESN'T give him enough evasion for it to miss. I think for it to be useful, they'd need to double it's duration.
@guimon783 жыл бұрын
@@bobthebuilder609 well, leveling it up ONLY increases the duration, so TECHNICALLY you can make it last much longer... Or you can use Monado Armor at level 10 and not have to care

@ike80283 жыл бұрын
@@JlBUNROCK Yeah I found the game incredibly easy due to the way I set up my team Shulk had like an entire kit of Strength Up gems, to the point where he did ridiculous damage. I played as Shulk and my sole goal was to fight (although I kept light heal around in case Reyn started to get a bit too low or Sharla was getting attacked) Reyn had multiple HP Up gems (which maxed out at 9999 HP pretty early in the game) and some aggro up gems, so enemies would always stay on him. I also gave him the highest defense armor I had at any given time, and in the late game he had a couple HP recovery up gems. Sharla had like 3 attacking moves and the rest of her kit was healing moves, as well as debuff immunity and a stat booster. She would continuously spam heals and almost always bring Shulk and Reyn back to full health regardless of how hurt they were I used this team throughout the entire game and could consistently take out opponents ~30 levels ahead of me once I had it set up. It was actually really fun
@sushi2873 жыл бұрын
@@ike8028 for me riki’s healing move always seemed to heal the party a lot more than sharla, and because I found him to be a lot more useful than her in the long run. Also shulk, dunban and riki can do an insanely good chain combo (I can’t remember the name of the move but the one where riki deals damage based on the amount of debuffs) carried me through the latter half of the game, so reyn as a tank and sharla as a healer are not as useful to me. But tbh i think every character can be good as long as you put in the effort, and that’s one of the things I love the most about xenoblade
@ike80283 жыл бұрын
@@sushi287 I just put all of Sharla's AP into her healing moves throughout the game, so they were almost always enough to heal 75%-100% of my team's damage taken I also used the chain combo of Shulk to break, Reyn to topple, and Sharla to daze. Then after the chain attack Shulk could use head shaker to extend the daze as we all inflict large amounts of damage

I like the definitive edition more. Every instrument sounds like it has more presence. At certain points in the original I felt like I had to really listen hard to figure out the melody of some parts. All the measures just kind of blended together, making it harder to hear the difference between what each instrument is doing. The Remaster makes each instrument sound so crisp and clear, and the melody is even played with a bit to make it sound more dynamic, particularly with the electric guitar. I just think it's overall way better, though I do like how the original had the vocal chorus following the melody of the last refrain.
