To all these people complaining about my long introduction sequence, just skip straight to timestamp 5:29, and you won't really be missing all this much. Nothing to make completely hard on yourselves over. Also, long pinned comment alert but... here goes nothing. I have some updated rankings to make after the making of this video from 2022 that will be contradicted now that it's 2024. I have wanted to get out to the comments section to show some of these ranking choices I made have either aged poorly or I wanted to bring an episode lower or higher regarding my current thoughts and feelings, but with new words to be said about them in 10+ words or less depending on the episode I am reranking in seasonal order (spoilers, I am not planning to rerank "A Shed for Edward" (please don't @ me) , "Forever and Ever", "Thomas and the New Engine" (still shit), "The Way She Does It" (I just don't buy this one being good, I'm sorry), "Edward Strikes Out" (obviously, GOD NO!), "Thomas' Animal Friends" (mid), "Henry Spots Trouble", or any other episode I don't plan to change my mind on either because some of the episodes are either overhated or I have episodes that I personally and unironically or ironically like but I know everyone else hates like "Rusty to the Rescue" as an example with some episodes I don't think deserve to be looked upon fondly at all and still don't deserve it today): - "The Trouble with Mud" (Season 3) - 5/10 [AVERAGE] - Three seasons in and this is the least faithful RWS adaptation. - "The Old Bridge" (Season 7) - 8/10 [GREAT] - This episode is good, you actually hate this? - "As Good as Gordon" (Season 8) - 2/10 [AWFUL]. - "Thomas and the Statue" (Season 9) - 9/10 [AMAZING] - A great way to celebrate 60 years than "Calling All Engines!" - "Henry and the Flagpole" (Season 9) - 4/10 [MEDIOCRE] - There are actually worse Henry episodes than this. - "Duncan and the Old Mine" (Season 9) - 10/10 [EXCELLENT]. - "Toby Feels Left Out" (Season 9) - 7/10 [GOOD] - I can't believe I was ever so mean to a Toby episode from Seasons 8-11 that was actually good. I'm sorry to everyone for not considering watching it again earlier when I was working on that video. - "Thomas and the Toy Workshop" (Season 9) - 7/10 [GOOD]. - "Keeping Up with James" (Season 10) - 8/10 [GREAT]. - "Emily and the Special Coaches" (Season 10) - 7/10 [GOOD] - There's a lot more good to this one than I remembered. - "Thomas Sets Sail" (Season 11) - 7/10 [GOOD] - Good casting of characters and good pacing, too. (PS, this episode has aged not as well as I thought). - "Thomas and the Stinky Cheese" (Season 11) - 3/10 [BAD] - The cheese is melted, that's why it stank. - "Sir Handel in Charge" (Season 11) - 5/10 [AVERAGE] - "The Green Controller", but it's mid. - "Steady Eddie" (Season 12) - 1/10 [TERRIBLE] - I'm glad Edward never got another spotlight role in an episode until Season 14. - "Charlie and Eddie" (Season 14) - 2/10 [AWFUL] - "Play Time" again, but worse. - "Merry Misty Island" (Season 14) - 4/10 [MEDIOCRE] - A mediocre way to end of an awful season. - "Wonky Whistle" (Season 15) - 2/10 [AWFUL] - Big shock that I reranked the worst Thomas episode ever written by Thomas fans. - "Thomas Makes a Mistake" (Season 23) - 2/10 [AWFUL] - Thomas, this is the 7th time in a row you've learned how to ask your friends for help this week. (JK, it's actually the 11th time in a row he's learned this lesson lol). - "Emily to the Rescue" (Season 24) - 7/10 [GOOD] - Some flaws with the episode here and there, but Emily deserved her Number 12. - Both "Marvelous Machinery" episodes (Season 24) - 1/10 [TERRIBLE] - Still the worst arc in the series, but I don't think I needed to rank them this low from both a word and number out of ten standpoint. And if I need to revise my Top 10 Worst Thomas Episode choices, here you go: 10. "Thomas Makes a Mistake" 9. "Henry's Magic Box" 8. "Apology Impossible" 7. "Fiery Flynn" 6. "Edward Strikes Out" 5. "Don't Go Back" 4. "The Way She Does It" 3. "Marvelous Machinery" (both episodes) 2. "Sodor Surprise Day" (ultimately replacing "Wonky Whistle", but unlike "Wonky Whistle" where a part of me at least can't help but call it so terrible, it's laughable, "Sodor Surprise Day" is the bigger sum up of everything wrong with the Nitrogen era) 1. "Push Me, Pull You!" - At this point, I hate this episode the most of all the infamous stinkers the show had during its long run. (Dis)honorable Mentions: "Wonky Whistle" (the episode only sucks because I see the potential in it and that it at least does have an original premise), "Middle Engine", "Tram Trouble", "Thomas' Frosty Friend", "Kenji on the Rails Again", "Skarloey the Brave", "Thomas and the New Engine", "Emily's Adventure", and "Emily in the Middle".

The fact that it took six seasons to get an episode you didn't like is a testament to the classic era's quality. I'll miss this beautiful show, but at least we'll always have what we got...for better and for worse.

I for the most part agree with your HiT Era scores. That's personally the one I grew up with so I have a nostalgia tinted view of them. I think seasons 8 and 11 are great and "James the Second Best" is my favorite James story in HiT.

I also wish they did continue the CGI like it would’ve been cool to have a 25th season like they could’ve been like a really good connection. If Arthur came back he could’ve pulled good trains with Henry or Charlie and Billy could’ve just been making jokes all day and they could’ve been like a big race between Gordon Scotsman Connor Caitlin Spencer and it would’ve been cool to see Sam, come back to Sodor maybe with a Murdoch Molly could’ve been good to come back. I really miss Molly. She was one of my favourites.

I have yet to revisit the movie made for it, but I do find some enjoyment with S22 and S23, but S24 wasn't all that great. It may have had a great 75th anniversary/series finale special, it may have toned down the fantasy sequences, and it may have ended Emily's long arc on the show on a decent note. But rather do I find that season lackluster compared to the other two in my opinion.

Yes Johnathan. I wanted to show everyone that ratings list following the officially REAL production order for Season 24. It's a reminder for them to not be fooled by the fact that "Thomas' Animal Friends" is not the last episode produced. Sure, it aired last in the UK, Australia, and came out Netflix in the US, but that could be blamed on Mattel and/or Milkshake for screwing up by not following the actual production order.

@@liam4367 The same thing could be said about Jumping Jobi Wood, Emily and Dash, and Steam Team To The Rescue. I’ll just give a small reason as to why I just hate these episodes. I hate JJW because of the Edward torture with the logs. I hate EaD because of its unrealism with the bird whistling. (But I do kind of like Gordon and Ferdinand and Toby and Bash.) And I hate STTTR because it’s just a mess. Why in God’s name did they not give Edward, Henry, Toby, or all the other minor character more roles in this! Or where the hell is Timothy?! Remember when he helped out at the docks in No Help At All? We’ll why couldn’t they just use him again. And also (please excuse my raging.) HOW IN THE F(beep) DID SALTY SURVIVE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA UNTIL MORNING?! I’m shocked he was still alive! Sorry, I got a little heated there. Just had to say a little reason why I dislike those episode. I mean a lot of people don’t like these episodes too and I understand that.

I think The episode "Respect For Gordon" is just a rewrite of the episode "James In A Mess" which is really a great, but also very lazy for the Hit Era to not notice that the original version and their copy are exactly the same, but with a different engine, but same messy Accident, crushing oil tankers/tar wagons/ and yes to rail tankers filled with strawberry jam, and so-fourth, because it's happened in the CGI series, too but see for yourselves, but it's true that the CGI version of the series has been rewriting the classic railway series in a different way. Well, you see? Here's the thing. "Thomas the Babysitter" came out before "Banjo and the Bushfire". Farmer Trotter named one of his piglets Thomas (like you said; of course), the baby's parents named their child after the blue tank engine, and finally, Ranger Jill names the baby crocodile Thomas after Thomas helped out the animals in an act of bravery to get all of them out of a forest fire in Australia. Therefore, "Thomas the Babysitter" was actually made before "Banjo and the Bushfire". I hope you understand this.

To be fair, I do not think Season 24 is a good season at all. As a finale season, it's kind of bad compared to 22 and 23. While there are a handful of good episodes and it had a great series finale/75th anniversary special episode, it's that season I did not have much of a liking of looking back. It did not live up to my original likings for that season when I rewatched the season. If anything in all honesty, I'd rather have that era over an era of the following listed things: - Annoying and cringey rhyming and alliteration. - The narrator not shutting up after every time a character speaks for one minute. - The nonsensical elements being more used for plot point sake than realism or ACTUAL logic. - The engines' crews acting like mindless morons and incompetent imbeciles just like the engines (most notably if you think about Thomas' crew constantly putting up with Thomas' stupid decisions 24/7). - Lack of care for most of the presently recurring or newer characters introduced from that era (sure that was a problem done before with Season 9, but if were talking about ones prior to the CGI switchover like Donald, Douglas, Oliver, Toad, Bill, Ben, Arthur, Mighty Mac, etc. You can tell no one else felt like they were caring at that point). - Constant usage of three strikes, stupidity and lack of common logic. That was taken way too far with Season 15. - Bastardized or unlikable characters like Thomas, Henry, Emily, the Logging Locos, and Charlie. - Two unfunny episodes writing firefighters as incompetent idiots who can't do anything right. - Neglecting continuity in some of the episodes from either season like "Toby's New Whistle". - Stupid stories (like "Sodor Surprise Day", "Wonky Whistle", "Surprise, Surprise!", "Tree Trouble", "James to the Rescue", etc.) And also a soft reboot from 2021 that I refuse to even go on a full on lengthy long-ass rant about for one hundred minutes without even cringing once or showing my disgust for it due to the incompetence of Mattel's executives. Mainly because I still have respect for the same team who worked on S17-21 such as Andrew Brenner (even though he left after S23), David Stoten, Tim Bain (yes, they got an Australian writer to write a few episodes for this show), Davey Moore, Whitehousefilms, and everyone else's efforts for at least trying their very best despite Mattel's crazy restrains and that there are also a handful of gems or episodes I personally like such as "Wish You Were Here", "Thomas' Animal Ark", "Thomas' Fuzzy Friend", "Seeing is Believing", "School of Duck", "Free the Roads", "Gordon and Rebecca Coming Through", "Yong Bao and the Tiger", "Tiger Trouble", "Kangaroo Christmas", "An Engine of Many Colors", "The Great Little Railway Show" (my favorite episode from that era), "Hunt the Truck", "James the Super Engine", the Pack episodes (except for "First Day on Sodor"), "Ranger on the Rails", "What Rebecca Does", "Lorenzo's Solo", the "Digs and Discoveries" arc, and "Thomas and the Royal Engine". While Seasons 12-16 had some good episodes like "Happy Birthday, Sir!", "Welcome Stafford", "Edward the Hero" (to a lesser extent), "The Biggest Surprise of All", "Heave Ho Thomas", "Best Friends", "Snow Tracks", etc. There are so much bad episodes with some having such bizarre stupid shit that I just do not care at all. I have liked that era as a kid, but looking back on it as an adult, it's no longer lived up to my original opinions on that era as a child from 9-12 years of age.

I have heard the stories for both "Gordon Goes Foreign" and "The Missing Coach" plenty of times through remakes and fan-recreations and revisions as to what they could've been like if they were episodes for Season 2. So, they're both excellent based on their premises. "Gordon Goes Foreign" is pure gold with its story idea about Gordon thinking he should go to King's Cross to prove Duck and a Big City Engine wrong, only for him to find out once he gets there, it was actually St. Pancreas. "The Missing Coach" for the longest time having heard it was a lost episode back as 2009/2010, I am surprised that episode was scrapped because Britt thought kids at the time would be confused with the premise. So for to actually answer, they're both a 10/10. To keep things short, some of these cancelled episodes from the Pack would make to be really good episodes like "The Importance of Being Patrick", "Jack's Snow Rescue", "Safety First", "Kelly's Heroes", "Isobella Gets Steamed", "The Sodor Treasure Hunt", "Pop Goes the Diesel" (not the original Season 2 episode, btw), "Jack and the Quack", "No Bulldozer is an Island", and "All Work, No Play". They get a 10 score from me. "Bossy Byron" on the other hand looks likely to be kind of a meh one, and could've been easily revised to make the episodes' moral less blatant. And I would prefer this one over "Emily's Adventure" despite "Bossy Byron" being a cancelled episode, I will give that one that. 4/10 for me, weakest of the Pack and I can see why they axed this one.

You did pretty great on your favorite and least favorite episodes from season 1 to season 24 it is still a pretty good series and pretty great for different eras of the show and even the characters the creators live action model animation or CGI and everything else and if I have to choose my favorite season or at least my favorite era it would clearly be the Andrew Brenner era and Big World Big Adventures overall pretty good and pretty great and nice on the music video that you did Thomas the Tank Engine will still be in our hearts and still will to this day. And all engines go itself, I have seen episodes from season one and one of them are either hit-and-miss the new characters of Kana and Sandy are alright although I do wish that they could have give them introduction episodes but hey at least that I literally checked over a KZbin user named Railfan#1 who literally done introductory stories on the two respective characters and I literally been catching up on season 2 one of the episodes are either decent average or just completely bad like the paint problem and literally been catching up with those new episodes whenever they get released on cartoonito and I literally sometimes do thoughts on them on my KZbin Community page or just thought to myself about them and I might either give up on the show or just watch the new episodes on Wednesdays or Thursdays whenever I feel like it overall pretty good on the Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends series.

The ways shots were composed changed drastically in series 12 in my opinion. This is the series where we started to see an overabundance of face shots, now that they were animated, rather than the more artistic, limited-scope angles from previous series. Something about Series 12's visuals simply lack the charm of previous series, sure it's got the models, the crashes, and the narrator voicing the characters, but the charming little villagers are all animated in CGI (boo), and the expressive face plates are animated over with these lifeless uncanny models (honestly, James is the only one that looks good). And of course, this is where Sharon Miller fittingly started writing a lot more episodes. (Not to mention the IMDb ratings plummet from 6/10s to 2/10s when going from Series 11 to Series 12 lmao)
