in the early 90ths, when i was a young guy, i saw him playing with Nova Mob in a small club in a town of Germany (Bochum). It was a great experience. RIP Grant.

Grant Hart was a multi-instrumentalist, song-writer, and artist. He was extremely well read from Burroughs to Proust. Unfortunately, he might have been too smart for his good. I don't think he ever got past his addiction to narcotics. The drugs caused him to lose almost everything he owned and cared about either directly or indirectly. Its a shame to lose someone so smart and articulate. Thank you Grant, your music is something we can all remember. RIP

..yeah, everyone who plays with the hard stuff thought that..”.I’m too smart to get dragged down by that”..i remember running into Grant Hart at the health food/sandwich bar place on Hennepin, 1988-1989, Tao ?..not knowing who he was at the time, but he seemed strung out unfortunately, he was buying an herbal tincture called Valerian which helps when you’re dope sick..i was in Mpls from NY, having just gotten out of treatment at St Mary’s…I wish I had gotten to know him..RIP Grant Hart

The band logo is probably one of the most alluring and intriguing ever! That's one of the reasons I found Husker Du. My introduction was "Zen Arcade" . The cover art with the logo and song titles drew me in. Thank you, Grant for the art. Thanks Bob, Grant, and Greg for the musical tsunami you gave us. RIP Grant. You and I shared the same tastes in life.

Thanks so much for this! This is fascinating stuff. Hart is an interesting guy. It's hard to see him looking so old, though.
