Another reason why Honest Hearts is liked. Is the story of Randall Clark The Suvivalist. A U.S army veteran who lost his wife and son during the Great War in 2077 when the bombs hit Salt Lake City then sought refuge in Zion. He survived there and it even gives an origin story to the tribe known as The Sorrows as well. Funny thing about Dead Money’s “difficulty”. It comes from a programming error. ~ Supposedly: the ghost people are supposed to be blind as bats, going off of sound and touch opposed to vision. - thanks to a mistyped line of code, instead of 0% they get maxed perception. On top of that, the game’s leveling system also plays into it.

He's the most good out of the others he sacrificed 2 (questionable because you can tell the Tektus to leave Far Harbor) people to save all 3 factions in Far Harbor. @mudson7380 Жыл бұрын
Totally agree about Far Harbor. I was done with the Dima’s Memories segment four minutes after it started. Nearly skipped Far Harbor on my second play through because of that one obnoxious series of puzzles. They’re just so goddamn grindy. Pick up a block, set it down, repeat. Clear a path, setup defenses, then wait for little bugs to scurry between two points. It’s an interesting concept, and would have been forgivable if there were just one level to complete, but it becomes this obnoxious time suck.
@Jackomac Жыл бұрын
First off, you can store the blocks and knock out the first 4 missions in like 10 minutes, it that tedious. The last mission is actually the easiest, have a look for a tutorial, but basically you place blocks and turrets behind the barrier and it instantly lets you through.
@mudson7380 Жыл бұрын
Its funny, anytime someone complains about these missions, the kneejerk response is "but its so easy!" The difficulty isn't the problem, the clumsy mechanics and repetitiveness are. On The Lonesome Road, it's a shame you didn't get the Ulysses reference. I haven't played this DLC, but from what you said, and knowing the referencing (possibly the most important single character in all of Western Literature), he's a serial traveller and has been all over the show; and I'd go as far as to guess he's trying to make his way home. Super cool they have this reference, I appreciate that a lot.

And if you decide to Google the name, you'll come across James Joyce's Ulysses, an incredible book (one of the greatest novels of all time), which itself is a reference to one of the oldest pieces of Western Literature, an Ancient Greek epic poem from around 3,000 years ago. It's essentially about a guy who has been away from home for 20 years and is trying to make his way back, and lots of things happen etc. His English name is Odysseus, but his Latin name (Ancient Roman) is Ulysses.

Other than the dialog with Chinese leader at the end of the dlc, there are no dialog options that change the story in any way. Even at the end, all you can do is make the Chinese leader kill himself so you dont have to fight him but the ending stays the same because he has to die either way. You dont have any control over the game. Also, Fallout 3's fighting mechanics suck ass. You cant even aim down ironsight. On the other hand, I love old world Blues because it does'nt try to be an FPS game. Nuka World is my favorite Fallout 4 DLC. Maybe because I like collecting anything Coke related could have influenced that. The stupidity of Old World Blues had grown on me over the years so that's a good one. Never cared for Honest Hearts except Joshua Graham. The whole concept of tribals is dumb plus that DLC is so crash happy for me that I play through it quickly to get out of there.

I LOVED Nuka World and Nuka World killed Fallout at the same time. I recently returned to 76 and to be 100% honest Im having a blast and that annoys me. Fallout 3 you could nuke a town and be a slaver. Fallout NV and its DLC all had a edge to them, if Fallout NV was a movie it would be a R. I love the campy humor of Fallout, but in the end its a dark gritty universe lacking hope. Then you get the current state of 76, players doing emotes, player characters looking like they're from Fortnite, Mutations that allow you to jump like you're in Fortnite. Endless collectables from events that alloy you to build goofy and out of place elaborate camps. Im having fun, but this is so far gone from the grit of NV and even Fallout 3. Fallout is no longer a rated R franchise, hell its barely PG13 at this point as campy as 76 is. This shift in tone started with Nuka World, in my opinion. The Disney\Coke parody of collectables and merchandising has in a weird way become the core of 76. Damn me, for allowing Bethesda to do this and being a active participant in the purging of Fallout being a grim, harsh, fictional universe. Now I run from event to event hoping to get plans for a new Cappy statue.

Good ranking, they're interesting. But why should I care? Half of your reasonings are just explanations of what happens and what you do, it felt like I was just watching a Kotaku article. Would have been much better if you approached them with familiarity (like the majority of people watching) and talked about specific aspects you liked and why rather than "it's good" and "they're interesting".

unfortunately, this criticism would apply to 95% of all YT vidgame content creators. I don't know if it's a zoomer/millennial thing, or it's a mask for not actually playing said games. However it makes for content that is uninteresting and unwatchable. This goes for Luke Stephens, and pretty much every other YT'er at this point in time.

Personally id put dead money as the worst Fallout NV DLC, but I can see why people like it so much, Its just not my cup of tea.

They should make more pre-war Fallout DLCs

That kinda removes the point of fallout being post nuclear war place

lol it’s crazy. Without a doubt my favorite FO3 DLC is Broken Steel. I love seeing how the base game’s ending affects the world. Honest hearts is probably peak for me for FNV and Far Harbor is my top fallout DLC over all

Old World Blues and Point Lookout are probably my 2 favorites in the series they each come with a unique set of enemies, a unique location, and a bunch of sweet tools of chaos they got a unique flavor that makes them stand out from the rest of the DLCs like Far Harbor, Dead Money, and The Pitt they feel like a whole new game in a way and truly make me feel a sense of fear and or scientific curiosity the eerie facilities of Big MT and the Swamps of Point Lookout make me feel anxious as to who I may bump into a Cyberdog? Hillbilly? a random Cazador? they have so much to add in terms of replayability and I adore that the Transponder is an amazing way to get back to Big MT and I really wish we had more DLCs like these that give you an anxious yet curious feel with an atmosphere whether horrifying or scientific that gives you a chance to explore the deep secrets within these locations.

Ain’t no way this man put Nuka World and The Pitt above Honest Hearts.

Placing Nuka-World above Point Lookout is sacrilege. The story/writing in NukaWorld was so bog standard boring. Filthy casual.

Heres what they need to do to fix automatron. Take the automatron stuff, contraptions, vault 88, and arena stuff, then throw it all in a new map. Fit vault 88 into the story, create a fitting underground terminator-apocalypse, mechanized atmosphere, call it Automatron Hell, and you have a perfectly unique and cohesive underground-mechanical themed DLC that could rank up there with OWB. Maybe they'd have to cut a whole bunch of the workshop stuff to give it a new map, quests, weapons, etc, but I would absolutely still pay $20-$25 for that.

Dead Money is my favorite DLC ever. That ATMOSPHERE tho. 10/10. The droning score, pervasive traps, no equipment, and enemy difficulty create tension so thick you can cut it with a knife. Toss in a cool setting, story, characters, and the strongest themes in the series, and you've got a masterpiece.

Earned a new sub in the first 50 seconds. Favorite dlc was honest hearts. Joshua Graham is one of my favorite characters and zion was beautiful. Least favorite was dead money only because i started it when i was like level 15 if that, i was like 13 when i started it and the ghost people freaked me out, and i had ti restart because it saved while i was in the dlc with no back up file and had ti restart a new playthrough. Fantastic dlc though 10 out of 10

I know this isn't a popular opinion, but I actually enjoy Mothership Zeta. It's far from the best, but I always find the spaceship fun to fight through and explore. Then again, I also use TTW, a number of mods to improve combat, and a mod that let's you explore the ship again after the DLC main quest is finished.

I love the rankings, i always have a 3 way tie for #1 spot and honestly would nove far harbor down a bit just bc of how much FUN i have in the other dlcs. Farharbor is good i just couldn't get into it bc it took me a year to figure out a crash bug and actually PLAY it. I always fight dead money and Old World blues as number 1 and lonesome road as a close one too. Its just the mandatory finale to me. I love dead money and its the 1st DLC i play in every fnv playthru. And i dont even play Melee at all. Its not hard its just different. And for OWBs i just usually spend all of my post game there. It always feels like theres more to explore and more secrets hiding in that crater it just KEEPS me coming back. If fnv didnt crash every 10 minutes I'd still be playing to this day
